The present disclosure relates to combined gas and steam power plants. Various embodiments may include methods for operating such plants, such as: generating hot steam with an exhaust gas of a gas turbine; driving a generator with the steam; diverting at least a part of the generated steam and storing the diverted steam in a steam accumulator; then, discharging at least a part of the steam stored in the steam accumulator from the steam accumulator; heating the steam discharged from the steam accumulator with heat released during an exothermic chemical reaction; and feeding the heated steam to drive the turbine device.

Method for operating a combined gas and steam power plant with steam heated by an exothermic chemical reaction

A power plant having a steam circuit which can be supplied, in the region of a heat recovery steam generator, with thermal energy for producing steam, the steam circuit has, in the region of the heat recovery steam generator, a high pressure part, a medium pressure part and a low pressure part. In addition, a heat reservoir which has a phase change material and which is not situated in the region of the heat recovery steam generator is included, wherein, in order to supply the heat reservoir with thermally processed water, a supply line which leads out from the high pressure part or the medium pressure part is included and a discharge line which leads into the medium pressure part, the low pressure part or a steam turbine is included for discharging thermally processed water from the heat reservoir.

A method for operating a combined cycle power plant, wherein the combined cycle power plant has a gas turbine and a steam turbine and also a shutting-down device, and wherein, for shutting down the gas turbine and the steam turbine, the gas turbine and the steam turbine are operated within a time window that extends from the beginning of the shutting-down procedure at a first time to the falling of the steam temperature to a lower limit value at a second time by the shutting device in such a way that the gas turbine and the steam turbine are relieved substantially at the same time and the block power falls to zero, thermal energy that is stored in the combined cycle power plant preventing immediate falling of a steam temperature to operation below a minimum power output of the gas turbine within the time window.

Method for shutting down a gas turbine and a steam turbine of a combined cycle power plant at the same time

A power plant, particularly a coupled gas and steam power plant, including a plurality of first drainage lines that are fluidically connected on the upstream side to a water-steam circuit and are fluidically connected on the downstream side to an overpressure vessel, is provided. Additionally, at least one steam-conducting supply line, via which steam can be fed back to the water-steam circuit, is fluidically connected to the overpressure vessel. A method for operating such a power plant, wherein the at least one steam-conducting supply line can supply steam to the water-steam circuit in the region of a low-pressure stage, particularly in the region of the steam drum of the low-pressure stage is also provided.

Draining a power plant

A method for operating a gas and steam turbine plant is provided. In the plant, the flue gas that escapes from a gas turbine is routed through a waste gas steam generator and where a flow medium that is used to drive a steam turbine is conducted in a flow medium circuit that includes several pressure stages. At least one of the pressure stages has an evaporator circuit with a steam collection drum that has a plurality of downpipes connected to the steam collection drum and a plurality of rising pipes downstream of the downpipes that are likewise connected to the steam collection drum and are heated by the flue gas in the waste heat steam generator. The height of the fluid column formed by the flow medium in the downpipes is monitored and a transient dry operation of the evaporator circuit can thus be detected and safeguarded against.

Method for operating a gas and steam turbine plant and monitoring a liquid level in a plurality of downpipes

A method is provided for connecting at least one further steam generator to a first steam generator in a power plant. The power plant includes at least two steam generators and a steam turbine, in which a fluid used to drive the steam turbine is conveyed in a fluid circuit having a plurality of steam systems. The steam systems are assigned individual steam generators and are able to be separated from one another by shut-off valves. The fluid of at least the first steam generator is connected to the steam turbine. The method involves opening the shut-off valve of at least one first steam system of the at least one further steam generator before the steam of the at least one further steam generator has reached approximately the same steam parameters as the steam of the first steam generator, so that steam can flow into the further steam generator.

Method for quickly connecting a steam generator

The invention relates to a method for starting a gas and steam turbine system which comprises a gas turbine system which comprises at least one gas turbine, in addition to at least one steam turbine system which comprises at least one steam turbine and at least one steam system. Heat produced by the working fluid and which is released in the gas turbine is guided to the steam system in order to produce steam which drives the steam turbine. According to the invention, during starting, the gas turbine is started prior to the steam turbine and the steam turbine is started in the presence of the first steam in the system and is impinged upon by said steam.

Method for starting up a gas and steam turbine system

The invention relates to a waste heat steam generator of a gas fired and steam powered generator. Said generator comprises a waste heat boiler to which exhaust gas of a gas turbine can be supplied. Said steam generator also comprises at least one evaporator which is located in the waste heat boiler and is used to produce process steam for a steam turbine. According to the invention, flue gas from a heating device can be supplied to the waste heat boiler and at least part of said flue gas can be extracted at at least one point of the waste heat boiler and redirected back to the inlet of said waste heat boiler.

Waste heat steam generator

A steam transformer () receives steam through a steam inlet (), and the steam is mixed in a mixing zone () with water entering through a water inlet (). Steam cooled by contact with the water exits the steam transformer through a cold steam outlet (). Between the mixing zone () and the cold steam outlet () is positioned a demister () that restricts the passage of water droplets. The steam transformer () is used to condition the steam temperature in steam turbine and combined cycle turbine facilities when adjustment of steam temperature is required, such as for cold starts of turbines. The steam transformer () may be installed into a bypass circuit or directly inline. A number of differing configurations and designs are disclosed.

Hot to cold steam transformer for turbine systems

The aim of the invention is a device for coolant cooling in a gas turbine which, with a relatively simple construction and low plant complexity permits a particularly high degree of efficiency in using the heat produced on cooling the coolant from a gas turbine. Said aim is achieved, whereby a number of interconnected evaporator tubes for a flow medium, are arranged in a coolant channel, connected to a gas turbine, to form forced throughflow steam generator. Said device is preferably used in a gas and steam unit with a waste heat steam generator on the exhaust gas side of a gas turbine, the heating surfaces of which are connected into the water-steam circuit of a steam turbine. The evaporator tubes of the device are thus connected on the inlet side by means of supply line to the feed water train of the water-steam circuit of the steam turbine.

Device for cooling coolant in a gas turbine and gas and steam turbine with said device

A device is for preheating combustibles in combined gas and steam turbine installations. The device includes at least one steam generator for heating, evaporating and superheating feed water, which has a feed water preheater, an evaporator and a superheater. At least part of the heated feed water is used for preheating combustibles in a combustible preheater, which can be supplied with feed water of a predetermined temperature by a feed water supply line. Once the combustible has been heated, the cooled feed water can be drained using a feed water drain line. The device is configured so that it can be used in different gas turbine installations and its heating capacity can be rapidly and cost-effectively adapted to predetermined combustible preheating requirements. To achieve this, the combustible is preheated in stages, which can be activated individually as required and through which the combustible can successively pass.

Device and method for preheating combustibles in combined gas and steam turbine installations

A combined-cycle power plant includes a steam turbine having at least one low-pressure stage and a high-pressure stage, a feed-water preheater associated with the high-pressure stage, a bypass line connected in parallel with the feed-water preheater, a gas turbine operable with both gas and oil as fuel and having a flue-gas side, and a waste-heat steam generator disposed downstream of the gas turbine on the flue-gas side for generating steam for the steam turbine.

Combined-cycle power plant with feed-water preheater bypass

A steam generator, in particular a waste-heat steam generator, includes first and second evaporator heating surfaces located in an elongate gas flue for hot gas. A first supply line for feed water is throughflow-connected on an inlet side to the first evaporator heating surface, while the second evaporator heating surface is throughflow-connected on an inlet and an outlet side to a low-pressure drum. The low-pressure drum is provided with a second supply line for feed water. The first supply line has a first treatment point and the second supply line a second treatment point. Each of the treatment points serves for adding and/or extracting chemicals for water treatment, so that each evaporator heating surface can receive only feed water which is conditioned according to regulations applying to that evaporator heating surface. A method for operating the steam generator is also provided.

Steam generator, in particular waste-heat steam generator, and method for operating the steam generator

A method for operating a combined-cycle power plant includes utilizing heat contained in an expanded working medium of an associated gas turbine operable with both gas and oil as fuel, to generate steam for an associated steam turbine having at least one high-pressure stage. After a change of the operation of the gas turbine from gas to oil, feed water to be supplied to the high-pressure stage is divided into a first and a second partial stream, and only one of the partial streams is preheated. Particularly high plant efficiency may be achieved with the method, irrespective of the fuel being used for the gas turbine, at a low outlay in terms of apparatus and operational requirements. A combined-cycle power plant that is particularly suitable for carrying out the method includes a bypass line connected in parallel with a feed-water preheater associated with the high-pressure stage.

Method for operating a combined-cycle power plant

Condensate of a combined-cycle gas and steam turbine plant is deaerated. The condensate is heated in a feedwater tank to which preheated condensate is supplied. The condensate is preheated in a waste-steam generator heated by waste heat of the gas turbine. Feedwater is extracted and warmed in heating surfaces connected in the water/steam loop of the steam turbine and heated by the exhaust gas from the gas turbine. In order to guarantee adequate deaeration of the condensate at a simultaneously high efficiency of the plant through especially high energy utilization of the waste heat from the gas turbine, a partial flow of the preheated condensate or a partial flow of preheated feedwater is used as heating medium for heating the condensate. A low-pressure economizer is connected downstream of a condensate preheater in the waste-heat steam generator via a feedwater tank. The condensate preheater or the low-pressure economizer have at their outlet an outflow line leading into the feedwater tank.
