A method for machining toothed and hardened work wheels, includes: mounting a work wheel that is hardened and pre-toothed with an allowance onto a workpiece spindle; removing at least 50% of the allowance by means of gear skiving with a skiving wheel that is rotatably driven by a tool spindle; precision-machining the work wheel in unchanged tension by means of a honing wheel. The forward movement occurs during gear skiving in the extension direction of the toothing. The delivery of the workpiece that is moved in an oscillating manner in the extension direction of the toothing occurs during honing in the radial direction. The skiving wheel and the honing wheel are driven by a common tool spindle. A device for carrying out the method includes a workpiece spindle, which is driven to rotate, and a tool spindle, which carries a combination tool having a skiving wheel and a honing wheel.

Method and device for precision machining of toothed and hardened work wheels

A method, and device, for producing gears in gearwheels with a skiving wheel that features cutting teeth, a workpiece spindle for receiving the gearwheel and a tool spindle, wherein the tool and workpiece spindles are positioned at an axial cross-angle relative to one another, wherein the gearing is produced in successive processing steps. Spacewidths between the teeth are incrementally cut deeper. The axial spacing between the tool and workpiece spindles and a turning angle is changed between the processing steps in such a way that a first cutting edge section of the cutting tooth engages on a tooth flank section of a first tooth flank produced during a preceding processing step with an at least reduced material removal referred to other cutting edge sections of this cutting tooth.

Skiving method and corresponding device

A method and apparatus for cutting teeth in workpieces, wherein, in a roughing operation, a substantially uncut blank receives rough teeth using a cutting tool having cutting teeth. Operation teeth are produced, the tooth width of which is defined by the spacing between the flanks of the teeth and is greater than the target dimension. In a subsequent deburring operation, a chamfer is incorporated into the end face edge of the tooth flanks, accompanied by the removal of an end face burr. Lastly, in a smoothing operation, the tooth width of the teeth is brought to the target dimension by machining the tooth flanks.
