A sleeve () for centering fasteners during the assembly of components such as facade elements on the substructure of a building envelope includes a sleeve body () and a connection bracket (). The sleeve body () has a plurality of sleeve elements () which are grouped around a central center axis A and are spaced apart from each other by gaps running in the sleeve longitudinal direction. At least a first () and a second () sleeve piece are connected to each other at an axial longitudinal end of the sleeve body () by a separable connection bracket (), preferably the connection bracket is separable via predetermined breaking points. Such a sleeve is used in the construction of facades, wherein it is inserted into a pilot hole of a facade element, the connection bracket is broken off and a fastener is inserted into the sleeve. Driving the fastener centers the fastener in the sleeve and the sleeve is removed from the pilot hole.

Centering sleeve and method for fastening

A fastening arrangement for anchoring facade panel elements includes a substructure on a building shell and a plurality of facade panel elements. The fastening arrangement has an adhesive component and a mechanical securing component. The fastening arrangement is characterized in that per facade panel element, at least two securing straps are provided as mechanical securing components, each having at least two fastening points. At least one fastening point of the two securing straps has a sliding point which uses an oblong hole. Furthermore, the longitudinal extent of this oblong hole defines an axis which is tilted at an angle &#x3b3; of between 5&#xb0; and 20&#xb0; relative to the vertical axis. The fastening arrangement is constructed by preparing the substructure and at least one facade panel element for fastening, attaching the securing straps to the facade element and applying an adhesive component. After aligning and attaching the facade element to the substructure, the securing straps are attached to the substructure, with one attachment point of a first securing strap being the sliding point, and after fastening of the sliding point, the oblong hole is tilted at an angle &#x3b3; of between 5&#xb0; and 20&#xb0; with respect to the vertical axis.

A method for establishing a connection, with the following steps: inserting a sleeve () having a stop flange () into a bore (), in such a way that the stop flange () is at a distance from a bore edge (); anchoring at least one elevation () of a free end portion () of the sleeve () in the bore wall () by widening the free end portion () of the sleeve (); and moving the stop flange () in the direction of the at least one fixed anchored elevation () of the free end portion () of the sleeve (), by widening a further portion () of the sleeve.

Method for establishing a connection

A self-tapping screw having a boring part and a threaded shaft for fixing a panel-type object to a preferably metallic substructure is provided. The screw is configured in such a way that it produces a through hole in the panel type object, said hole accommodating the shaft with a degree of play and so that it produces a bore in the substructure into which the thread on the shaft cuts a counter-thread. The boring part includes a boring tip that is located eccentrically in relation to the longitudinal axis of the screw. The tip centers the screw during the positioning operation in such a way that the boring part executes a circular displacement about the boring tip, which expands the through hole to the desired size, whereas the bore in the substructure is produced with the diameter of the boring part. The screw replaces self-tapping screws provided with boring flights and is preferably for use with a substructure consisting of thin sheet metal through which the boring flights of conventional screws can inadvertently penetrate.

A washer () and a threaded assembly () between a screw () and a workpiece () are provided. The washer () is offset up to an angle (&#x3b1;) with respect to a flat initial state, such that the washer has an insert thickness (D) that is substantially greater than the initial thickness (D) thereof. The washer () is made of a malleable material. The length (L) of an unthreaded shank section () of the screw () is smaller than the sum of the thickness (D) of the workpiece () and the insert thickness (D) of the washer (), and essentially not smaller than the sum of the thickness (D) of the workpiece () and the insert thickness (D) of the washer (). When the last thread of the screw () leaves the workpiece () on being screwed in, the force previously exerted on the washer () by the feed of the screw is zero. The washer () has been plastically deformed thereby, such that the washer retains the flattened state thereof and bridges the space between the workpiece () and the screw head () free from play. The workpiece () and the washer () thereby remain firmly clamped between the head () and the thread () of the screw (), and the prevention of inverse rotation is ensured.

A hole-shaping and thread-forming screw ( ) has a non-cutting hole-shaping end section ( ) that ends in a point, a haft section ( ) provided with a thread ( ) and an engagement section ( ). The non-cutting hole-shaping end section ( ) tapers towards its end. The whole screw is made of a stainless material, in particular its end section ( ). When the screw ( ) is driven in, a hole is haped without cutting into the workpiece ( ) and is then threaded by the screw ( ) itself.

In a screw for fastening sections to a substructure, a shank ( ) is provided with a boring portion ( ) and a threaded portion ( ) as well as a screw head ( ). The portion ( ) of the shank ( ) adjacent to the screw head ( ) flares conically toward the screw head ( ). On its underside ( ) the screw head ( ) is provided with projections and/or depressions. During use for fastening sections to a substructure, the section to be fastened is pressed by the conical portion ( ) in screwing direction against the fexed substructure ( ).

Screw for torque-limited fastening

A screwdriver adapter (,) is provided with a receiving part (,) having an interior space (,). At the open end of the pot-shaped receiving part (,) there is inserted a nut-shaped element (,) in torsionally rigid and axially secured relationship. Adjoining the tool driving means (,) there is disposed a channel (,), which passes axially through the nut-shaped element (,) and extends as far as the interior space (,) of the receiving part (,). Drive portions broken off by overtorquing a screw in the tool driving means (,) can travel via the channel (,) into the interior space (,) of the receiving part (,), where they can be collected until an emptying process.

In a screw (,) for mutual fastening of two components (,and,) there is provided a shank (,) with a thread (,), an unthreaded shank portion (,) and a screw head (,). The end region (,) of the thread (,) adjacent to the unthreaded shank portion (,) tapers with constant thread pitch (S), and so the tapering end region (,) of the thread (,) forms a kind of frustoconical envelope surface (,) upon rotation of the screw (,). During setting of the screw (,) and during over-torquing thereof, the end region (,) of the thread (,) acts as a kind of milling cutter and makes a frustoconical opening (,) in the component (,). The thread flights in the tapering end region (,) can then be braced against the wall of this opening (,), so that mutual contact pressure between the components (,and,) is possible despite over-torquing of the screw (,).

In a screw for fastening metal sections (,) to a substructure (,), a shank (,) is provided with a threaded portion (,) and a drive portion (,) for applying a driving device. The portion of the shank (,) adjacent to the drive portion (,) flares conically toward the drive portion (,). The thread (,) engages in the substructure (,), whereby the conical portion (,) is pulled into contact with the section (,) and presses it against the substructure (,). By virtue of appropriate friction, the torque is increased to an appropriate level, and so torque-dependent stopping of the driving action can be achieved.
