A device for use in a printing unit of a printing machine, with that printing unit comprising at least one roller of an inking unit or of a dampening unit of the printing unit and with at least one traverse drive for generating an axial traversing stroke of the roller, and also with at least one drive for the moving of the roller in a rotary manner. A magnetic coupling, which is comprised of an inner rotor and an outer rotor, is arranged between the roller and the drive. In order to compensate for the traversing stroke of the roller, the inner rotor and the outer rotor are movable relative to each other in the direction of the axis of rotation of the roller.

Device in a printing unit of a printing machine

A printing group of a printing press is comprised of at least one pair of cylinders which include a form cylinder and a transfer cylinder. The transfer cylinder cooperates with an impression cylinder to apply ink to a web of material, with the web being guided vertically. The circumference of at least one of the transfer cylinders and the impression cylinder is an integral multiple, greater than one of the circumference of the form cylinder. The transfer cylinder and the form cylinder have respective drive motors that are mechanically independent from the drive of the respective other cylinder.

Printing groups of a printing press

A printing group, which includes at least one rotation element, that can be rotated about its longitudinal direction, and than can also be displaced axially, includes a drive. That drive for the rotational element can be a drive motor which is independent of the drive of the printing group cylinders. The drive can be effected through a rotationally fixed and coaxially linked drive wheel, and a flexible drive. In order to achieve a lateral travel of the rotational element, the printing group is provided with a supplementary drive motor.

Drives for a printing group

A drive mechanism of a cylinder of a printing machine uses a drive motor. The cylinder and the drive motor can be moved relative to one another in an axial direction. A coupling, whose length can be varied in a linear direction by a given amount, and which has a lamella packet connected to flanges in a positive locking manner, is arranged between the drive motor and the cylinder.

Drive mechanism of a cylinder

A printing unit is comprised of a pair of cylinders, such as a forme cylinder and a transfer cylinder. These two cylinders, together with a third cylinder, form a printing site. The third cylinder is in contact with the transfer cylinder. The forme cylinder and the transfer cylinder are coupled together and form a drive system which is driven by a common drive motor during the printing process. Power is transmitted from the transfer cylinder to the forme cylinder. The drive system for the cylinder pair and a drive for the third cylinder are coupled to each other by a mechanical coupling for selective coupling and decoupling.

Printing unit

A drive mechanism for a rotating component of a printing machine uses a drive motor. The drive motor is connected to the rotating component by a coupling and is supported for axial displacement between coupled and uncoupled positions.
