When a multimedia messaging service center (MMS-C) receives an MMS message for an intended recipient, the MMS-C forms an MMS notification message that includes the MMS message. The MMS-C then sends the MMS notification message to an intended recipient independent of receipt of a retrieval request from the recipient.

A system is provided for widget to widget communication. The system includes a first device, a second device, and a communication server. The first device and/or the second device are a mobile device. The communication server provides a first widget to the first device and provides a second widget to the second device, wherein the first widget and the second widget are portable code that is installed and executed in a corresponding runtime environment without additional compilation. The first widget, when executed by the first device, communicates information that identifies content associated with the first widget and a state of the content via the first device to the communication server. The communication server communicates the information and the state to the second device. A dual channel communication system for detecting customer presence is provided. The system comprises a fixed component configured to receive a media content over a first channel, at least one mobile component configured to receive a targeted content based on a media related to the media content over a second channel, and a service provider that sends the media content and the targeted content. The fixed component detects the mobile component presence within proximity range using a short range wireless connection.

A system is provided for remote configuration of widgets. The system includes a device, a processor, a configuration application, and a user interface. The user interface accesses the configuration application. The configuration application, when executed by the processor, selects the device and uploads a state of the device to the configuration application. The configuration application executes a simulator to simulate the device for a software widget based on the state and generates a configuration for at least one of the software widget and the device based on executing the simulator. The configuration application also verifies the configuration on the simulator and downloads the configuration to the device.

A dashboard for use in a vehicle is provided. The dashboard comprises a dashboard display screen and a processor. The dashboard display presents a plurality of information components to a vehicle occupant and the processor determines a condition. The condition is comprised of at least one of a fuel condition, a brake fluid condition, a speed condition, a tire pressure condition, an oil condition, an engine condition, an instrument condition, a washer fluid condition, an anti-lock brake system condition, a traction control system condition, a windshield wiper motor condition, a safety restraint system condition, and a weather condition. The processor adapts a first display signal based on the condition and sends the first display signal to the dashboard display screen to command presentation by the dashboard display screen of the information components. Adapting the first display signal comprises at least one of changing size, changing location, and changing the scale of at least one information component presented on the dashboard display screen.

The system includes a mobile device, which includes base transceiver station location data, a memory, a processor, and a location engine stored in the memory. When executed by the processor, the location engine receives information that identifies multiple base transceiver stations in response to the mobile device registering with a communication network. The location engine also reads a location for each of the base transceiver stations from the base transceiver station location data and calculates a location of the mobile device based on the location of each of the base transceiver stations. Additionally, the location engine provides the location of the mobile device in a defined portion of a communication transmitted by the mobile device.

Computer implemented methods and systems are provided for real to virtual communications. A request from a mobile device associated with a first participant of a virtual environment is received to communicate with an avatar associated with the virtual environment. A data store is referenced to identify a second participant of the virtual environment that is associated with the avatar. Whether the second participant is participating in the virtual environment is determined. A computer is communicated with in response to determining that the second participant is participating in the virtual environment, wherein the computer is associated with the second participant at least for participating in the virtual environment.

Methods and systems for presenting media content (e.g., scrolling text) on a mobile device are provided. A broadcast may be received from a network via a wireless communication link, the broadcast may include media content (e.g., a text feed) and information (e.g., metadata) associated with characteristics of the media content. The media content may be extracted, and at least one characteristic associated with presenting the media content on the mobile device may be identified. The media content may be presented on the mobile device in accordance with the at least one identified characteristic.
