Folding box with inner bag and process for manufacturing same

Cardboard packaging for liquids

Described is a cardboard box package having an inner bag and wherein three of four top cover flaps are integrally interconnected, with the intermediate one of said cover flaps extending from a side face of the box being folded to the shape of a triangle and folded down onto the top face of the cardboard box. The inner bag has its sealed upper end portion partially passed between the cover flaps and locally bonded thereto. Outwards folding of the triangularly folded cover flap and tearing a section of the inner bag end portion off permits a pouring spout to be formed and the package to be thereby opened (FIG. 1).

Described is a cardboard box for pourable material, in particular liquids, consisting of a folding box having a rectangular base section and made of cardboard, and an inner bag disposed therein. At its upper end, the body of the folding box is provided with a circumferential collar adapted to be folded inwards for closing the folding box, and a cover flap extending from a portion of the collar for covering the end portion of the inner bag projecting from the collar in its sealed and flattened-down condition in the adhesively secured state of the flap. The cover flap is provided with a portion formed as a tearing tab permitting the folding box to be torn open together with a section disposed therebelow of the upper end portion of the inner bag. In this manner it is possible to form a pouring spout of the type already generally known from milk packages.

A container with an inner pouch includes an outer cardboard shell with interconnected bottom and top flaps and a leakproof inner pouch with a closeable spout. The outer shell in its front side wall has an inwardly inclined upper portion provided with an orifice for the spout, and in its two lateral side walls has triangular, folded-in sections adjacent the inclined portion of the front side wall. The spout projects through a wall of the pouch and has a flange at the inner end which is secured to the interior surface of the pouch. At least one tear-off strip is located in at least one side wall of the outer shell, which, upon removal, permits the plastic inner pouch to be effortlessly removed from the shell.

A transport and storage container for concentrates of beverages or the like for making a ready-to-drink beverage by means of a drink-making machine is provided in the form of an inner bag package, whereof the two narrow side walls, as well as the top and bottom, are parallel to each other, whereof the narrow side wall containing the concentrate outlet, removal and connection, piece and the opposite narrow side wall form angles of approximately 93.degree. and 87.degree. with the top and with the bottom. The two triangular wall portions of the inner bag gussets located in the bottom and top planes of the package are sealed or welded together, and a viewing window structure is provided in the outer cardboard casing of the package adjacent the end where the concentrate outlet piece is located.

Transport and storage container for concentrates of beverages or the like

A container with an inner pouch, particularly for liquids such as oil, vinegar or fruit juices or for bulk goods or the like, consisting of an outer cardboard shell such as that used in folding boxes, with bottom flaps and top flaps respectively connected together, particularly glued together, and a leakproof inner pouch closed at its upper and/or lower ends by a sealed or welded seam and having a closable spout projecting through an opening in one wall of the shell, wherein the upper portion (17) of one of the two narrow side walls (18), containing the opening (16) for the spout (15) connected with the inner pouch (12), is inwardly inclined when the container is closed and the upper triangular wall portions (19) of the two wider side walls (20), located adjacent to the inclined upper narrow wall portion (17), are folded inwardly along their angle bisectors (21).

The packing means of this invention includes a liquid impervious inner bag that is sealed at its upper end and which is closed at its bottom end. The bag is positioned within a tubular folding box which is closed at the bottom and which has, at its upper end, closure flaps hinged to three of the sidewalls. One of the closure flaps is adhesively secured to the sealed end of the inner bag so that when the adhesively secured closure flap, or a portion thereof, is torn away the inner bag is automatically opened and a pouring spout is formed.
