The invention provides a process for working up glycol-containing aircraft deicers, by (1) removing the suspended impurities from the used aircraft deicer, (2) treating the product thus obtained in such a way that the thickeners present therein are no longer capable of gel formation, (3) before or after step (2) establishing a pH of &#x3e;7, (4) and then fractionally distilling off the glycols.
