A labeling system may include a labeling device which applies labels to objects, for example, containers, and a loading device which is arranged upstream of this labeling device and which supplies the labeling device with labels The loading device may comprise a transport device which transports a second label strip and comprises at least two carriers for first label strips wound onto label rolls The carriers may be arranged next to one another on holding devices. A joining unit may be provided which can be displaced between the carriers in a first movement direction and which joins sections of the first label strips, which are arranged on the carriers, to sections of the second label strips, which are guided in the transport device.

Device and method for vertical adjustment in container processing machines

A device for filling stand-alone flat-bottom bags with opposing side edges and a bottom, in particular filling them with liquid including a filling carousel which can rotate about a vertical axis and which has a plurality of holders for one bag each provided on its circumference. The filling carousel has a bag feeding station, a bag opening station, a filling station and a removal station as well as a sealing station. To optimize the filling device and in particular to achieve a higher throughput, a magazine for prefabricated bags and a feeding carousel for the bags is provided in the bag feeding station, containing a plurality of holding devices for one bag each whereby the holding devices can be driven to rotate about a common axis in order to remove each bag individually from the magazine and transfer it continuously to a holder of the filling carousel.

The invention concerns a process and a device for attaching a label jacket to objects, such as bottles or similar items, where a jacket label is seized by its forward margin by a spreading jaw unit and pulled in axial direction over the object, where the object, before the pull-over application, is held by the area of its mantle surface, by positive and/or friction lock, the pull-over process is started, the holding device on the mantle surface is temporarily released as soon as the spreading jaw unit at least partially surrounds the object at its mantle surface, and, at the latest before the desired adhesion height of the label jacket on the object is reached, the latter objects is again seized by the area of its mantle surface, which is now covered with the label, and in the process the label is affixed in a non-slip manner, while the spreading jaw unit is pulled off.

Method and device for applying wrap-around labels to objects

A receiving table for container processing machines having a table top () which stands on feet () and has transport elements (T) for the containers arranged on it, the table top housing an inclined top plate () and a bottom plate () which is rigidly connected to the former and together with it forms a cavity (). The top side of the table top () is provided with a water-repellant coating to facilitate runoff of liquids and cleaning of the tablet plate, and yields a stable, lightweight and inexpensive construction.

On an inspection machine for bottles or the like with an inward conveyor and arranged thereon a first lateral inspection device, with an outward conveyor and arranged thereon a second lateral inspection device, and with an intermediate conveyor which spans a gap between the latter and arranged thereon a base inspection device, the inward conveyor and the outward conveyor are arranged at an angle with respect to one another, whereas the intermediate conveyor incorporating two endless conveyor mechanisms adapted to be driven at the same speed extends at least partly in an arc. This enables the two lateral inspection devices to check different peripheral zones of the bottles without the bottles rotating independently and the malfunctions thereby caused, so as to achieve a high level of inspection accuracy.

Containers are transported on rotatable support plates which are arranged in a circle on a rotating turntable. The leading edge of a label is adhered to a container as it orbits past a vacuum-type label transfer drum. A curved guide which is tangential to the cylindrical body of the container as the orbiting and rotating container passes it causes the label to wrap completely around the container. One of a circular array of heat sealing elements which are rotating with the turntable adjacent each support plate is cammed radially outwardly of the turntable into contact with the region on the container where the trailing end overlaps the leading end of the cable. This fuses the ends of the labels together. The cam profile is adjustable in length to keep the time during which the heat sealing member is in contact with the label ends overlap constant independently of the rotational speed of the turntable.

Method and apparatus for applying labels to containers and containers

Apparatus for applying labels to spinning and translating containers has a rotating vacuum cylinder almost touching the containers. The printed sides of individual labels are deposited on the vacuum cylinder at which time fingers grip the leading end of the label to prevent the label from being attracted to an ensuing glue roller which has plural annular grooves and applies a strip of glue to the leading end of the label. The leading and trailing ends are also held by vacuum devices which are cam driven to extend by a small amount radially of the vacuum cylinder. The fingers register in the grooves of the roller so they do not interfere. The label on the cylinder is carried on the cylinder and secured at its trailing end by its own radially movable vacuum device. When the trailing end reaches a second glue roller the latter device moves radially outward of the cylinder to pick up a strip of glue on the trailing end. The label is then carried to a label application station where a blast of air from inside the holding device drives the leading end into tacky contact with a spinning container which causes the label to wrap around the container until the glue coated trailing end sticks to the container.

Device for applying labels to containers

A method for applying a shrink sleeve to the closure end of a conveyed container and apparatus for performing the method. Shrink sleeves supplied in the form of a hose are expanded over a mandrel which is disposed at an inclined position relative to the conveying direction of the containers such that the closure ends of the containers enter the lower open ends of the shrink sleeves as the containers are conveyed and before the respective shrink sleeves are cut off.

Apparatus for supplying tape from a roll with two alternately driven tape feed rollers and a motor driven drive system which produces a rotational movement has overrunning clutches arranged between the motor drive system and the tape feed rollers, respectively, said clutches making a continuous change of materials removed from a supply roll to another roll possible with a reversal in the rotational direction of the drive motor, whereby in one direction of motor rotation only one overrunning clutch makes a connection with its feed roller and in the other direction of motor rotation only the other overrunning clutch provides a rotational connection to its feed roller.

Tape feed apparatus

A container labeling machine for applying one or the other of normal length body labels or extra-length boy labels has a rotating rotary table with container supporting controllable rotary plates. Adjacent its periphery is arranged a first labeling station for applying the normal length labels with a rotating labeling cylinder and a second labeling station for the extra-length labels with a stationary label container contacting the path of rotation of the containers. Two independent drives are provided for rotating the plates, one of which regulates the positioning and/or rotation of the rotary plates in the area of the first labeling station, and the second for continuous rotation of the rotary plates in the area of the second labeling station. The rotary plates are selectively connectible with the first or second drive. The two labeling stations and their common brush-on station overlap one another, whereby a very short total treatment stretch is possible. In addition, a simple change-over of the second drive is possible for the adaptation to different container diameters.
