An insertion mechanism for a drug delivery device including a trocar, a housing, and a manifold in fluid communication with a fluid pathway connector and movable relative to the housing between a first manifold position adjacent to a proximal end of the housing and a second manifold position adjacent to a distal end of the housing. A hub carrying the trocar or hollow delivery needle is removably connected to the manifold, the hub being movable relative to the housing between a first hub position adjacent to the proximal end of the housing and a second hub position adjacent to the distal end of the housing. A power source is configured to generate rotational motion. A motion conversion mechanism operatively connects the power source and the hub, and is configured to convert the rotational motion into linear motion of the hub.

Insertion mechanism for drug delivery device

An insertion mechanism for a wearable drug delivery device that deploys a small gauge flexible cannula with support of a coaxial rigid trocar or hollow needle. After insertion, the trocar or hollow needle is withdrawn leaving the cannula in place for drug delivery. The insertion mechanism may also include an insertion mechanism housing having a proximal and distal end, a manifold configured to fluidly connect the hollow interior of the cannula and the fluid pathway connector, and a manifold guide carrying the manifold and movable between a first position and a second position. A hub carries the trocar and is removably connected to the manifold guide. An insertion biasing member may be initially retained in an energized state between the proximal end of the insertion mechanism housing and the hub, and a retraction biasing member may be initially retained in an energized state between the hub and the manifold guide.

In the closed position, the door covers an access opening of a compartment of a main body of the electronic device. In the open position, the door uncovers the access opening of the compartment to enable a user to access an inside of the compartment. The door including at least one connector to movably connect to the main body to enable the door to rotate about a central axis thereof. The door resides within the compartment in the open position and the closed position.

A tilt control for a tiltable mount and a mount including a tilt control are provided. The mount has first and second brackets mounted for rotation or tilting, such as about a shaft. The second bracket might be a monitor mount tiltable relative to an arm bracket. The tilt control includes a friction brake and an over-running clutch configured to disengage the friction brake to permit upward rotation or tilting, but engage the friction brake for controlling the downward rotation or tilting. The friction brake is engaged by the over-running clutch to control downward tilting. The friction brake generates a counter-acting force to retain a mounted device such as a video monitor and/or keyboard in fixed position against drooping, but to permit downward tilting upon application by a user of an adjustment force.

Techniques for liquid replenishment in a printer/plotter. An ink delivery system (IDS) is employed wherein the on-carriage spring reservoir of the print cartridge is manually and securely connected to the off-carriage reservoir. A pen cartridge that uses an internal spring to provide vacuum pressure is connected from an inlet port through a unitary coupler to an ink reservoir located off the scanning carriage axis. The coupler serves to align as well as to secure two mating valves to securely hold them together in an open latched position which is not intended to be modified or disconnected until the entire ink supply has been depleted. A replaceable ink supply module for providing replenishment of an inkjet printhead includes a collapsible bag, an enclosure box, a connective tube, and an on/off valve. These four components are incorporated into a composite sealed system which remains intact during shipment, storage, installation and operation. The collapsible bag is placed inside the protective enclosure box and has an end-connect outlet permanently attached to one end of the connective tube. The other end of the connective tube carries a permanently attached on/off valve designed for engagement with an inlet valve of an inkjet printhead.

A printer carriage has a chute for removably holding a print cartridge, and includes a set of datums on a forward portion of the chute for positioning the print cartridge. A spring-loaded clamp is movable by a handle between an open position which allows easy insertion and withdrawal of the print cartridge from the chute, and a closed position which applies a clamping force against a back wall of the print cartridge. The clamping force is preferably applied in both a forward and downward direction against a lower portion of the back wall to securely hold the print cartridge in the chute against the datums, and to provide conductive contact through a plurality of electrical interconnects between the carriage and the print cartridge. A method of installation and removal of a print cartridge employs access along a primarily vertical path through an open top of the chute. An ink delivery system which includes a short form factor ink jet pen having a supply of ink for depositing on an ink receiving medium. An adapter is mounted to the short form factor pen to permit it to be removably mounted within a pen receptacle or stall dimensioned to receive a tall form factor pen. The ink jet cartridge includes a housing, a printhead mounted on the housing, datum surfaces on the housing for registering a position of the housing in a fixed, repeatable position in a first carriage structure, and a cartridge set of electrical contacts mounted to the cartridge housing and electrically coupled to the printhead. The cartridge set of electrical contacts is positioned on the housing for electrical contact with a corresponding first carriage set of electrical contacts when the cartridge is mounted in the first carriage structure. The adapter structure is mounted to the cartridge housing to provide an assembly of the adapter structure and the cartridge, the assembly adapted for mounting in a second carriage structure configured to receive an inkjet cartridge of a different size in a fixed, repeatable position. The second carriage structure has a second carriage set of electrical contacts, and contact is made between the set of electrical contacts and the second carriage set of contacts when the cartridge is in the fixed, repeatable position in the second carriage structure.

A plurality of ink supply bags for an inkjet printer are each enclosed in a separate protective enclosure having a front opening for an end-connect outlet. The cross-section of the enclosure is a diamond shaped parallelogram so that when several of the enclosures are placed side-by-side, overlapping occurs between adjacent enclosures. This provides a decreased overall width for an ink supply station on the printer while at the same time still allowing use of a flattened collapsible bag inside each enclosure. The printing system includes a media transporting system for transporting a print medium along a medium path to a print area, a scanning carriage for holding a printing structure including a printhead, and a scanning apparatus for scanning the carriage along a scanning axis transverse to the media path at the print area. A fluid conduit for the flow of ink, interconnects between the ink reservoir of the fixed ink supply station and the printing structure, the fluid conduit including a length of hollow flexible multiple layer tubing routed such that a flexible loop is formed therein.
