Provided herein are examples of bead worn supports, such as eyewear, configured to provide passive venting by providing pathways between a lens and a frame and/or by providing a smooth anterior profile to allow a laminar flow of air on an anterior surface of the lens. The pathways through the frame and lens of the eyewear can be configured such that they do not provide a direct path to the eye of a wearer. The headworn supports provided hemin can provide venting while reducing or preventing unwanted light, particles, or other debris from contacting the eye of the user. The headworn supports can also be configured to exhibit excellent ballistic performance.

Disclosed herein are sports helmets having modular components. A modular component includes an eyewear adapter that is releasably attachable to the helmet and configured to interface with corresponding eyewear in an orientation that permits a wearer of the helmet to see through the eyewear. The eyewear adapter is configured such that, in use, the eyewear adapter enhances the fit or function of the eyewear relative to the use of the helmet and the eyewear without the eyewear adapter. A modular component includes electronics modules that can be mechanically and electrically coupled to the helmet. A modular component includes other functional modules that affect the aerodynamics of the helmet, the air flow of the helmet, the fit of the helmet, or the look of the helmet.

Provided herein are examples of headworn supports, such as eyewear, configured to provide passive venting by providing pathways between a lens and a frame and/or by providing a smooth anterior profile to allow a laminar flow of air on an anterior surface of the lens. Eyewear can be provided that comprises at least one lens, at least one earstem, and a retention assembly that interconnects the lens with the earstem. The retention assembly can include an engagement protrusion attached to the lens and a coupling mechanism attached to an end of the earstem. The coupling mechanism can include a housing configured to receive the engagement protrusion and a lever mechanism being operative to move between open and closed positions for disengaging or engaging with the engagement protrusion.
