Embodiments provide slide navigation technology that addresses challenges in digital pathology of navigating and viewing high resolution slide images. Example systems comprise a virtual slide stage (VSS) having at least one sensor that detects user movement of a target placed on the VSS, and an input component, coupled to the VSS, which provides quick function movement control of the target via quick functions. The systems also comprise a connector component that connects the VSS to a user device and transmits output from the at least one sensor and input component to the user device. The systems further comprise a computer processor, in communication with the VSS, which processes the output using a computational model to generate data representing movement profiles of the target. The computer processor executes a software component, causing the output, translated based on the movement profiles, to be relayed via a viewing application on the user device.

Virtual slide stage (VSS) method for viewing whole slide images

When reviewing digital pathology tissue specimens, multiple slides may be created from thin, sequential slices of tissue. These slices may then be prepared with various stains and digitized to generate a Whole Slide Image (WSI). Review of multiple WSIs is challenging because of the lack of homogeneity across the images. In embodiments, to facilitate review, WSIs are aligned with a multi-resolution registration algorithm, normalized for improved processing, annotated by an expert user, and divided into image patches. The image patches may be used to train a Machine Learning model to identify features useful for detection and classification of regions of interest (ROIs) in images. The trained model may be applied to other images to detect and classify ROIs in the other images, which can aid in navigating the WSIs. When the resulting ROIs are presented to the user, the user may easily navigate and provide feedback through a display layer.

Multi-sample whole slide image processing in digital pathology via multi-resolution registration and machine learning

A computer-based method and system of distributing biological sample data acquired as a digital image of a subject biological sample. The acquired digital image and image capture data are processed according to at least one user. This results in processed image data and capture metadata. The processed image data represents biological sample data of the subject biological sample. A package processing combines the processed image data and capture metadata into a working Package. The method and system enables simultaneous electronic access to the working Package by multiple users, across multiple sectors, in addition to the one user.

User targeted medical imaging and information packaging, compression and distribution system

In a cloud model, a plurality of dispatchers may be connected through a Global Dispatcher, both facilitating the addition of new organizations to the cloud and allowing for the addressing of studies from any organization in the cloud to any organization, group or individual in the cloud. Efficiency in diagnosis is improved through the addressing of a study to a plurality of qualified recipients, as the first recipient with an appropriate, available resource may review and provide a diagnosis for the study.
