The present disclosure describes bottle closure assemblies which are made at least in part with a polyethylene composition having good processability, good organoleptic properties and good dimensional stability. The bottle closure assembly includes a cap portion, an elongated tether portion, and a retaining means portion. The retaining means portions engages a bottle neck or an upper portion of a bottle. The elongated tether portion connects at least one point on the cap portion to at least one point on the retaining means portion so as to prevent loss of the cap portion from a bottle.

Bottle closure assembly including a polyethylene composition

The present disclosure describes bottle closure assemblies which are made at least in part with a polyethylene composition having good flow properties and good resistance to environmentally induced stress cracking. The bottle closure assembly includes a cap portion, an elongated tether portion, and a retaining means portion. The retaining means portions engages a bottle neck or an upper portion of a bottle. The elongated tether portion connects at least one point on the cap portion to at least one point on the retaining means portion so as to prevent loss of the cap portion from a bottle.

A method of modifying the rheology of a thermoplastic resin that includes the steps of providing a thermoplastic resin and blending interpolymer resin particles with the thermoplastic resin. The interpolymer resin contains a styrenic polymer intercalated within a polyolefin, such that the thermoplastic resin is present as a continuous phase and the interpolymer resin is present as a dispersed phase. The method provides a rheology modified thermoplastic resin with improved physical characteristics.

Method of improving the bubble stability of a blown film of a thermoplastic resin

A polymer composition that includes from 0.1 to 60 percent by weight of interpolymer resin particles containing a styrenic polymer intercalated within a polyolefin and from 40 to 99.9 percent by weight of at least one second polymer. The polyolefin is present at from 20% to 80% by weight based on the weight of the particles, has a VICAT softening temperature greater than 60&#xb0; C. and a melt index of from 0.3 to 15 g/10 minutes (190&#xb0; C./2.16 kg). The styrenic polymer is present at from 20% to 80% by weight based on the weight of the particles. The interpolymer resin particles have a gel content ranging from 0 to 5% by weight based on the weight of said interpolymer resin particles, a VICAT softening temperature ranging from 85&#xb0; C. to 115&#xb0; C., and a melt index value ranging from 0.1 to 6.0 (230&#xb0; C./5.0 kg).
