A propulsor and control system for a Lighter Than Air (LTA) aircraft having annular fore and aft circumferential shrouds surrounding the aircraft body. The fore and aft circumferential shrouds form respective fore and aft circumferential shroud gaps between the fore and aft circumferential shrouds and the LTA aircraft body. Fore and aft propulsor blades are situated substantially or completely within the fore and aft circumferential shroud gaps. The blades counter-rotate in one embodiment. The fore and aft circumferential ring propulsors can have front control vanes located in front of the respective propulsors blade sets, and back control vanes located behind the respective propulsors to control the direction of the flow of air in order to maneuver the LTA aircraft. Magnetic levitation may be used to actuate the propulsor blade sets.

Circumferential ring propulsors and control assemblies for manned and unmanned lighter than air aircraft

A breaching device for cutting through a substrate. There are several embodiments of the breaching device. In one embodiment, the device includes a hub assembly with a rotatable ring and a plurality of RM feed assemblies attached to the ring. In another embodiment, the device includes a disc, wherein the disc is rotatable and includes a plurality of slots, a shaft joined to the disc about which the disc rotates and a plurality of RM feed assemblies attached to the disc and arranged in the slots thereof. In another embodiment, the device includes a plurality of carts linked together, wherein each of the carts includes a cart body to which is coupled to an idler wheel, a wheel with an in-wheel motor and a platform and for each cart, a RM feed assembly retained on the platform. The RM feed assemblies include ejecta nozzles that may be positioned at selectable angles.

Rotating and oscillating breaching device with reactive material

A propulsor and control system for an underwater vehicle having annular fore and aft circumferential shrouds surrounding the hull. The fore and aft circumferential shrouds form respective fore and aft circumferential shroud gaps between the fore and aft circumferential shrouds and the hull. Fore and aft propulsor blades are situated substantially or completely within the fore and aft circumferential shroud gaps; the blades counter-rotate in one preferred embodiment. The fore or aft circumferential ring propulsors can have front control vanes located in front of the respective propulsors blade sets, and back control vanes located behind the respective propulsors to control the direction of the flow of water in order to maneuver the underwater vehicle.

Circumferential ring propulsors and control assemblies for manned or unmanned underwater vehicles

A breaching device for non-explosively cutting through a substrate, such as the leg of an offshore oil platform or other large cylinder from within the leg or large cylinder. The device includes a ring and a plurality of Reactive Material (RM) feed assemblies. Each RM feed assembly is arranged around the ring and includes an extendible nozzle. Each RM feed assembly includes a cavity that may contain RM that when ignited exits the nozzle. The nozzles are spring loaded and arranged to extend toward the inner surface of the substrate to be cut when the ring is rotated and/or oscillated. This arrangement results in a substantially uniform cut of the substrate from within with much less danger, material, equipment and cost than is currently required to remove large water-based structures.

A breaching device that may be used to create a linear and, if desired, continuous, cut or breach in a metal structure. The cut or breach created may be non-linear in shape and not deviate from the functionality of the device. The device includes a plurality of containers joined together, such as by a metal wire or the like to form a series of cutting charges. One or more of the containers includes Reactive Material (RM) that may be ignited electronically or some other activation mechanism. The containers that do contain RM are sealed with the RM therein and preferably fabricated to be sufficiently heat resistant so that the RM is only ignited intentionally. The RM that is contained in the containers may be fired simultaneously, sequentially or in a programmed pattern, depending on the requirements of the application.

Reactive material breaching device

A device for either or both of metal cutting and metal welding. The device is configured to a standard service side arm and other guns and/or other types of tools to cut and/or weld metals for the purposes of breaching and welding metals in a range of applications, including in air and underwater, without degrading the primary purposes of the gun or other tools. In one embodiment, the device includes a reactive material cartridge and a nozzle adapted for attachment to a muzzle. In another embodiment, the device includes a muzzle-loading tube including the reactive material and a nozzle configured to shape the reactive material exiting the tube.
