The disclosure is a scanning device comprising a scanning assembly including a scanning engine and a scan window; a bezel including a first opening, a second opening, and a bezel body extending between the first and second openings and having an inner surface and outer surface; an antenna assembly including a transceiver and at least one antenna element; and a housing including a handle portion, a head portion, and a trigger portion. The scanning engine is coupled to the scan window and the scan window at least partially covers the first opening. The antenna element is arranged around at least a portion of a surface of the bezel body. The head portion is configured to include the bezel, at least a portion of the antenna assembly, and at least a portion of the scanning assembly, and the trigger portion which couples to the scanning engine.

Barcode reader and cradle assemblies for inductive charging include a reader for capturing at least one image of an object and a cradle that retains the reader. The reader includes a head portion including an opening at least partially defining the FOV, a handle portion, a foot portion forming a tapered foot region, a rechargeable power source coupled with the reader to be electrically charged and to supply an electric charge to power the reader, and a first coil positioned within or around the tapered foot region coupled with the rechargeable power source. The cradle includes a body portion including a tapered body region and a second coil positioned therewithin or therearound that generates an oscillating electromagnetic field in response to an alternating current. The tapered foot region removably couples with the tapered body region to retain the reader. When the reader is retained within the cradle, at least one of the first or second coils is nested within the other of the coils.

An example interchangeable connector panel system for fixed mount industrial scanners includes a housing including a mounting mechanism and a coupling mechanism, an image capture assembly at least partially disposed within the housing, and a first field-interchangeable removable connector module. The image capture assembly includes an optical assembly, a decoder engine, at least one image capture assembly interface, and at least one of a central processing unit or a graphics processing unit. The first field-interchangeable removable connector module couples with the coupling mechanism of the housing and is removable by a user in-field. The first removable connector module includes at least one connector module interface and an input/output (I/O) interface having a first configuration. The at least one image capture assembly interface communicatively couples with the at least one connector module interface to allow transmission between the I/O interface and the image capture assembly.

An example system includes a housing having a cavity; an imaging sub-assembly mounted in the cavity including: an imager configured to capture an image; an aiming light source mounted in the housing configured to generate a collimated beam of light, an illumination light source configured to generate illumination light; and interchangeable first and second cover plates configured for mounting to the housing in front of the imaging sub-assembly to form an external cover for the housing and sealably protect the imager from an environment, wherein the first and second cover plates have respective passive optical elements that modify the collimated beam of light to form respective aiming patterns, and wherein at least one of the first cover plate or the second cover plate has a third optical element that modifies the illumination light.

A housing has an imaging sensor operably coupled with the circuit board, the imaging sensor configured to capture an image frame appearing in the imaging FOV and defining an imaging axis. An illumination assembly has a plurality of light sources operably coupled with the circuit board, a diffuser positioned adjacent to the plurality of light sources, the diffuser configured to generate a diffused light pattern, and a light pipe positioned adjacent to the plurality of light sources to generate a direct illumination pattern and an off-axis illumination pattern, wherein the direct illumination pattern is oriented generally parallel to the imaging axis and the off-axis illumination pattern is configured to intersect the imaging axis.

Systems for adjusting power outputs of isolated electronic devices are described. A first connector including an external power pin and a field power pin connects an electronic device to a power supply. The first connector receives a first current level from the power supply at the external power pin, and a second current level from the power supply at the field power pin. A jumper block is configurable in a first position which electrically isolates the external power pin from the field power pin, and a second position which electrically couples the external power pin to the field power pin. The first position directs the first current level from the external power pin to a second connector, and the second position directs a combination of the first current level and the second current level from the external power pin and the field power pin to the second connector.

Preferably, the RFID tag reader assembly includes a chassis having a face directed towards the FOV and an antenna assembly at least partially contoured around the face of the chassis where the antenna assembly includes: a monopole flexible antenna having a first monopole antenna element having a first half and a second half, the first half and the second half being substantially symmetrical about a line of symmetry; and a dipole flexible antenna extending at least partially over at least a portion of the first monopole antenna element.

Targets to be electro-optically read by image capture are illuminated with illumination light emitted from an illumination light source and directed along an illumination path through a window to the targets, and return light from the targets is captured through the window and projected along an imaging path to an array of light sensors of an imaging system. An optical element is located in both the illumination path and the imaging path, and has a light-reflecting, non-diffusing portion for directing the captured return light incident on the light-reflecting portion along a folded imaging path to the array, and a light-diffusing portion for diffusing the illumination light incident on the light-diffusing portion along a folded illumination path to scatter and blur an image of the illumination light source, to increase an apparent size of the illumination light source, and to reduce a perceived brightness of the illumination light source.

The scanning arrangement () includes an imaging camera () and light source () disposed within a recess compartment () located in the interior region of the housing. The imaging camera defines an imaging field () of view for reading indicia located on a target object. The light source defines an illumination field () for illuminating indicia located on a target object, such that the illumination field is substantially coaxial with the imaging field during a reading of indicia located on a target object.

Infrared light, which is non-readily visible, illuminates at least part of a field of view containing indicia to be electro-optically read. Visible light illuminates another field of view containing the same indicia. The indicia is read by image capture by the illumination light from one of the illuminated fields of view. The use of IR light minimizes an adverse reaction due to only using bright visible light. The use of visible light enables thermally printed indicia, which is not readily readable by IR light, to be read.
