A system for transmitting discrete data packets of sensor measured values of operating parameters. The system includes a transmitting device configured to transmit the measured values per a transmittal protocol. The system includes a receiving device that receives the measured values processes the received measured values in accordance with a receiving protocol. The transmittal protocol includes: determining a most recent measured value for the sensor; selecting previous measured values for the sensor; comparing the most recent measured value to the previous measured values to determine a difference therebetween; and conditionally transmitting the most recent measured value based on the difference. The receiving protocol includes: determining a most recent received measured value for each of the sensors; deriving an analytic time based the most recent received measured values; and deriving a time-aligned value for one of the operating parameters measured by the sensors at the analytic time.

Systems and methods related to transmitting and receiving sensor data

A control method for optimizing or enhancing an operation of a power plant that includes thermal generating units for generating electricity. The power plant may include multiple possible operating modes differentiated by characteristics of operating parameters. The method may include tuning a power plant model so to configure a tuned power plant model. The method may further include simulating proposed operating modes of the power plant with the tuned power plant model. The simulating may include a simulation procedure that includes: defining a second operating period; selecting the proposed operating modes from the possible operating modes; with the tuned power plant model, performing a simulation run for each of the proposed operating modes whereby the operation of the power plant during the second operating period is simulated; and obtaining simulation results from each of the simulation runs.

Methods and systems for enhancing control of power plant generating units

System and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a master data archiver configured to store a data related to a turbomachine system and a first data collector service system configured to collect the data from the master data archiver. The system also includes a second data collector service system communicatively coupled to the first data collector service system and configured to pull or to push the data from the first data collector service system and a first data archiver configured to receive at least some of the data from the second data collector service system. The system further includes an asset model database storing a plurality of turbomachine tags, wherein the turbomachine tags are configured to categorize the data and a data access system (DAS) configured to provide data access to the first data archiver, the asset model database, or a combination thereof.

Systems and methods for application reuse

System and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a master data archiver configured to store a data related to a turbomachine system and a first data collector service system configured to collect the data from the master data archiver. The system also includes a second data collector service system communicatively coupled to the first data collector system and configured to pull or to push the data from the first data collector system and a first data archiver configured to receive at least some of the data from the second data collector system. The system further includes an asset model database storing a plurality of turbomachine tags, wherein the turbomachine tags are configured to categorize the data and a data access system (DAS) configured to provide data access to the first data archiver, the asset model database, or a combination thereof.

A method of performance calculation and comparison is provided and includes collecting, at a central location, data relating to a performance characteristic of a machine, calculating at the central location and from the collected data, the performance characteristic of the machine and comparing the calculated performance characteristic with a target performance characteristic.

Performance characteristic calculation and comparison

An approach for detecting rotor anomalies is disclosed. An on-site monitoring unit monitors vibration measurements obtained from a rotor during a transient speed operation. In one aspect, the on-site monitoring unit classifies the vibration measurements into predetermined ranges of rotor speed during the transient speed operation, determines maximum vibration data for each of the predetermined ranges of rotor speed during the transient speed operation and compiles the maximum vibration data into a snapshot of the vibration measurements obtained during the transient speed operation. A remote monitoring unit detects a rotor anomaly from the snapshot of vibration measurements generated by the on-site monitoring unit.

In an embodiment, a system includes an on-site monitoring (OSM) data archival portion having one or more sensors configured to monitor a machine and generate corresponding monitoring data. The system also includes an on-site monitoring (OSM) archiver configured to receive and store the monitoring data collected by the one or more sensors. The system further includes an export service configured to export a portion of the monitoring data from the OSM archiver into one or more compressed files. The system also includes an export background intelligent transfer service (BITS) configured to establish a secure connection and send the one or more compressed files to an off-site location.
