A body worn patient monitoring device includes a flexible substrate having a plurality of electrical connections adapted to be coupled to a skin surface to measure physiological signals. The flexible substrate is adapted to be directly and non-permanently affixed to a skin surface of a patient and configured for single patient use. A communication-computation module, removably attached to an upper surface of the flexible substrate, is configured to receive physiological signals from the flexible substrate and includes a microprocessor that is configured to process and analyze the physiological signals. A series of resistive traces screened onto the flexible substrate are configured as at least one series current-limiting resistor to protect the communication-computation module.

Body worn physiological sensor device having a disposable electrode module

A body-worn physiological sensor includes a computation-communication module, and a flexible circuit layer configured to be coupled to a skin surface of a subject to measure physiological signals. An adhesive covers at least a portion of the flexible circuit layer and a protective covering protects the adhesive. The computation-communication module can be releasably attached to the sensor using electrical traces provided on the flexible circuit layer.

A body-worn patient monitoring device includes providing a substrate that supports one or more electrical connections to a patient's body. The method further includes determining a print pattern and thickness of a first material having a first resistivity to be printed on the substrate, determining a print pattern and thickness of a second material having a second resistivity to be printed on the substrate, printing the first material onto the substrate, and printing the second material onto the substrate wherein at least part of the second the material overlays the first material.

A method for providing high voltage circuit protection for a patient monitor. The method includes providing a substrate that supports one or more electrical connections to a patient's body. A wound healing system comprising an array of electrodes incorporated in a device for applying an electrical signal to a wound. The electrodes are configurable to form at least one composite electrode and the electrical signal is applied to the wound via the composite electrode(s). The system preferably includes means for determining the state of the wound, the electrode composition of the composite electrode(s) depending on the determined state of the wound. Advantageously, the electrode composition of the composite electrode(s) is adjustable in response to changes in the determined state of the wound.

Electrical wound healing system and method

A flexible biomedical surface electrode comprises an insulating substrate (), a conductive electrode layer () screen-printed on the substrate, and an insulating masking layer () on the electrode layer. The masking layer is configured to expose selected regions () of the electrode layer. An electrically conductive adhesive gel layer () on the masking layer makes electrical contact with the exposed regions of the electrode layer.

Biomedical surface electrode

A body worn patient monitoring device includes at least one disposable module including a plurality of electrical connections to the body. The body worn patient monitoring device also includes at least one communication-computation module, the communication-computation module having at least one microprocessor to actively monitor the patient and to perform a real-time physiological analysis of the physiological signals. A radio circuit communicates a raw physiological signal or a result of the physiological analysis at a predetermined time or on the occurrence of a predetermined event, via a radio transmission to a remote radio receiver, wherein the at least one disposable module is mechanically and electrically coupled directly to the at least one communication-computation module. The body worn patient monitoring device, including the at least one disposable module and the at least one communication-computation module, is directly non-permanently affixed to the skin surface of the patient.

A tissue mapping system comprising a two dimensional array of test electrodesfor application to the surface of tissue under investigation and circuit means-for measuring an electrical characteristic of the tissue underlying each test electrode. In one embodiment the electrical characteristics is the impedance of the tissue underlying each test electrode.

Wound mapping system

A biosignal electrode device comprises a flexible electrically insulating substrate 11 having deposited thereon an electrically conductive layer forming an electrode sensor 14 and a lead 15 for the sensor. The portion of the substrate bearing the sensor is formed in relief such that the sensor stands above the surrounding substrate.

Profiled biosignal electrode device

A biomedical electrode device comprises an electrically insulating substrate carrying an electrode. The electrode is coated with a moisture-activated electrically conductive bioadhesive layer having an adhesion of between 50 and 500 g/cm.sup.2 and a water content of less than 25% w/w.
