Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may comprise a core layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising an ethylene-propylene polymer, and a second skin layer comprising at least one or more α-olefin copolymers and antiblock. One or more of the at least one or more α-olefin copolymers in the second skin layer, which may be a sealant skin layer, may include at least one ethylene-propylene-butylene polymer in combination with a plastomer and/or elastomer that contain propylene, ethylene, or a combination thereof.

Biaxially oriented high-density polyethylene films with improved sealant skin

In one example embodiment, disclosed is a polyethylene film, which in example embodiment(s) may comprise, consists essentially or, or consists of: (A) a core layer and a first tie layer on a first side of the core layer consisting essentially of: (i) at least about 20 wt. % olefin-block copolymer; (ii) at least about 40 wt. % low-density polyethylene; and (iii) at least about 40 wt. % high-density polyethylene, wherein 'consisting essentially of' and “about,” among other words, are defined elsewhere in this disclosure; (B) a second tie layer on a second side of the core layer comprising, consisting essentially of, or consisting of: (i) at least about 20 wt. % low-density polyethylene; and (ii) at least about 40 wt. % high-density polyethylene; and (C) skin layer(s), be oriented in one or two directions; and contain additional layers external to the skin layer(s).

Enhanced bag drop film and packaging using oriented high-density polyethylene

In one example embodiment, disclosed is a polyethylene film comprising a core layer comprising at least 85 wt. % high-density polyethylene. Further, the polyethylene film comprises a first tie layer on a first side of the core layer consisting essentially of: (i) at least about 50 wt. % high-density polyethylene; and (ii) from 5 wt. % through 40 wt. % of each of: (a) an olefin-block copolymer; and (b) low-density polyethylene polymer and/or ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer. Further still, the polyethylene film comprises a first skin layer on the first tie layer, wherein the first skin layer comprises a polyethylene-based polymer, silicone, and antiblock agent, wherein the polyethylene film is coextruded and oriented either monoaxially or biaxially. Yet further, the polyethylene film is adhered to face stock, which optionally excludes silicone.

Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may comprise a core layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer consisting essentially of one or more ethylene-propylene copolymers. Further still, the multilayer film may include a second skin layer consisting essentially of one or more ethylene-propylene-butylene terpolymers. And yet further, the multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction, and at least two layers of the multilayer film are coextruded.

Functional tie-layer formulations in biaxially oriented films containing HDPE

Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may include a core layer comprising a polyethylene stabilizer optionally in a masterbatch solution and at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising at least 90 wt. % ethylene-propylene polymer and antiblock, and a second skin layer consisting of an ethylene-propylene copolymer or terpolymer. Further still, the multilayer film may include a primer layer on the second skin, an aqueous barrier layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol polymer, polyvinyl alcohol polymer, or combinations thereof on the primer layer. And, further still, multilayer film may include a metallization layer on the aqueous barrier layer, wherein the multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction.
