An electric cracking furnace system for converting a hydrocarbon feedstock into cracked gas includes a mixing device for mixing hydrocarbon feedstock with slightly superheated and/or saturated steam. The system includes a steam drum, an electric furnace, a primary transfer line exchanger (PTLE), a secondary transfer line exchanger (STLE), and a tertiary transfer line exchanger (TTLE). The electric furnace includes a feed inlet for a hydrocarbon feedstock-saturated steam mixture and an outlet for a cracked gas. The steam drum includes a saturated steam outlet connected to the mixing device, and a water outlet and a steam inlet both connected to the STLE. The PTLE is configured to preheat the hydrocarbon feedstock-saturated steam mixture before entry into the electric furnace and to cool the cracked gas provided by the electric furnace. The STLE is configured to generate steam and to cool the cracked gas provided by the PTLE.

The present disclosure provides a system and method for recycling intermediate product streams of at least gasoline from the MTP plant to the steam cracker plant for processing with the feedstock of the steam cracker plant to generate a higher percentage of ethylene and propylene. A system and method for increasing the production of Syngas from an SMR (Steam Methane Reforming) processing plant by providing COas an additional feedstock, such as from an exhaust stream of a Corn-to-Ethanol plant, or from a power plant or industrial plant, like a cement plant. The COsteam and methane are introduced into the SMR reactor heated to about 870&#xb0; C. and at about one atmosphere such that a reaction takes place that produces Syngas comprising CO, Hydrogen (H) and carbon dioxide (CO). The Syngas is then cleaned and provided to a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reactor or other Bio-catalytic synthesis reactor to produce Ethanol or other high value liquid fuel.

A process for producing a hydrogen-containing product gas by catalytic steam-hydrocarbon reforming with an overall steam-to-carbon molar ratio between 1.5 and 2.4 for the process. The process stream is reacted in at least two prereformers prior to reaction in catalyst-containing tubes in a top-fired reformer furnace. The process stream is reacted adiabatically in the first prereformer, while the process stream is heated prior to being introduced into the second prereformer and/or the second prereformer is heated. The process avoids carbon formation on the catalyst in the catalyst-containing tubes in the primary reformer.
