An intrusion detection circuit may use an element that produces non-repeatable values of a characteristic of the non-repeating element in order to prevent system manipulation. An information handling system may determine a first value for a first characteristic of the non-repeating element coupled to a secure boundary of the information handling system to activate the non-repeating element when the secure boundary is breached; retrieve a second value for the first characteristic of the non-repeating element, where the second value is a previous value compared to the first value; and determine whether an intrusion event occurred by comparing the first value of the first characteristic of the non-repeating element with the second value of the first characteristic of the non-repeating element.

Intrusion detection for an information handling system

An information handling system main board CMOS is powered by a CMOS battery, such as to keep a real time clock during a power off state, with the battery ground passed through a ground pad so that ground to the CMOS is incomplete until a coupling device, such as a screw, couples the main board to an information handling system housing. A bi-stable relay couples to the main board between the CMOS battery positive terminal and the CMOS to prevent application of power by the CMOS battery to the CMOS after closing of the ground until an embedded controller that is powered on the main board commands closing of the bi-stable relay.

Method and system to extend CMOS battery life

Systems and methods are disclosed for a liquid cooling module for an information handling system that may include a mounting card configured to mount the liquid cooling module to a card slot proximate to a graphics card; a radiator inlet configured to receive a heated liquid from a pump of the graphics card; a radiator inlet tube configured to transfer the heated liquid from the graphics card to the liquid cooling module; a radiator configured to receive the heated liquid via a radiator inlet; a blower configured to direct a surrounding air flow across the radiator to cool the heated liquid; a radiator outlet configured to receive the cooled liquid from the radiator; and a radiator outlet tube configured to transfer the cooled liquid from the liquid cooling module to the graphics card.

Liquid cooling module for an information handling system

In one embodiment, a method for monitoring total power consumption of a component coupled to a riser card includes: capturing, by a power cable sensor, a first signal associated with a power cable; receiving, by a power monitor, the first signal from the power cable sensor via a first bus; determining, by the power monitor, a first power consumption level indicating a first voltage supplied to the component via the power cable; capturing, by a card slot sensor, a second signal associated with a card slot; receiving, by the power monitor, the second signal from the card slot sensor via a second bus; determining, by the power monitor, a second power consumption level indicating a second voltage supplied to the component via the card slot; and determining, by the power monitor, a total power consumption level associated with the component based on the first and the second power consumption levels.

Monitoring total power consumption of a component communicably coupled to a riser card of an information handling system

A method may include executing basic input/output system (BIOS) instructions to initialize an information handling system. The initialization may include generating a hot-plug detect (HPD) override request. The method may further include receiving the HPD override request at a general purpose input/output (GPIO) device. In response to receiving the HPD override request, the GPIO may assert an active-low signal at an interconnect electrically connected to a HPD terminal of a graphics display receptacle, the receptacle for coupling a graphics processing unit to a graphics display device.

System to enable display detect and method therefor

The present disclosure includes a method for regenerating power in an information handling system. The method includes circulating a cooling fluid through a fluid flow loop connecting a thermosiphon, a turbine, and a condenser. The method further includes removing heat from a heated component of the information handling system, converting the cooling fluid from a liquid state to a gaseous state in the thermosiphon, and extracting energy from the cooling fluid in the gaseous state in the turbine. The method additionally includes removing thermal energy from the cooling fluid in the condenser, converting the cooling fluid from a gaseous state to a liquid state as the thermal energy is removed from the cooling fluid, and returning the cooling fluid in the liquid state to the thermosiphon. The disclosure also includes associated systems and apparatuses.

Power regeneration for an information handling system

Systems and methods for reducing problems and disadvantages associated with traditional approaches to cooling information handling resources are provided. A method for cooling information handling resources, may include conveying a flowing fluid proximate to one or more information handling resources such that the flowing fluid is thermally coupled to the one or more information handling resources and heat generated by the one or more information handling resources is transferred to the flowing fluid. The method may also include conveying the flowing fluid to a cooling unit such that heat is transferred from the flowing fluid.

System and method for cooling information handling resources

A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) temperature control system includes an HDD including a temperature sensor. An Operating System (OS) driver is coupled to the temperature sensor and includes a temperature data retrieval engine that is operable to retrieve HDD temperature data from the temperature sensor and transmit the HDD temperature data. A shared data storage is coupled to the OS driver and operable to store the HDD temperature data transmitted from the temperature data retrieval engine. A fan speed controller is coupled to the shared data storage and operable to use the HDD temperature data stored in the shared data storage to adjust the speed of a fan.
