A rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle is provided, including: a mirror element having at least one substrate including a front surface and a rear surface; a mounting mechanism configured to be mounted to the vehicle, the mounting mechanism including a ball stud and a socket for receiving a ball of the ball stud, wherein the mounting mechanism is further configured such that one of the ball stud and the socket is adhesively attached to the rear surface of the substrate; and a mirror housing secured to the mirror element so as to extend behind the rear surface of the substrate and around the one of the ball stud and the socket that is attached to the rear surface.

A rearview assembly is disclosed. The rearview assembly may comprise an electro-optic element, a display element, and/or a sensor. The electro-optic element may comprise first and second substrates, an electro-optic medium, and a spectral filter. The first and second substrates may be disposed in a substantially spaced apart relationship and may have first and second edges, respectively. The electro-optic medium is disposed between the first and second substrates. The spectral filter may be substantially opaque in appearance and disposed in a peripheral manner on the first substrate. Additionally, the first and second substrates have a substantial miss-match where a line bisecting the first substrate does not bisect the second substrate. The display element is operable to display a digital image. The sensor is operable to sense a condition and generate a signal based thereon. Additionally, the sensor may be optically aligned with the miss-match.

A system comprises an imager having a lens; a housing supporting the imager and defining an inlet opening; a moveable vent cover configured to move between a first position and a second position; and a channel defined by a portion of the housing, the moveable vent cover, and a diverter, the channel configured to selectively direct an incoming fluid from the inlet opening defined by the moveable vent cover in the open position and the housing toward the lens. The system may further comprise a lens cover supported by the housing; the lens cover disposed to at least partially cover the lens.

A system for securing a motor to a circuit board of a rearview assembly may comprise a display element having an orientation; a motor having at least two motor terminals; a motherboard having a connection header; and a motor connection printed circuit board defining at least two slots and having a body portion and an end portion. Traces may extend from the at least two slots to the end portion of the motor connection printed circuit board. Each of the at least two motor terminals may be inserted into one of the at least two slots defined by the motor connection printed circuit board; and a portion of each of the at least two motor terminals may extend through the slot in which it has been inserted.

A rearview assembly is disclosed. The rearview assembly comprises a reflective element and/or a display element. Further, the rearview assembly comprises an array of piezo-electric sensors. The array of piezo-electric sensors may be operable to sense a first vibration. Further, based, at least in part, on sensing the first vibration, the array of piezo-electric sensors may be operable to output a second vibration. In some embodiments, the second vibration may be operable to substantially dampen the first vibration. In other embodiments, the second vibration may be operable to provide haptic feedback to a user interfacing with a touch screen surface of the rearview assembly.

A rearview assembly includes a housing and a display assembly that is operably coupled with the housing. An actuation assembly is adjacent the housing and is configured to activate a plurality of features of the rearview assembly. The actuation assembly includes a single button that is operable between engaged and disengaged positions. A plurality of tactile indicia are spaced along the single button and are configured to indicate a particular function of the rearview assembly. A proximity sensor assembly is disposed on the single button and is configured to sense proximity of a user. A conductive contact assembly is operably coupled with the housing and configured to send a signal to a processor to activate a function of the rearview assembly.

A rearview assembly includes a housing. A connector is configured to be secured to a button inside a vehicle. The connector includes a mount connecting feature with a plurality of distinct connection locations. A mount includes a proximal end operably coupled with the housing and a distal end including a location feature configured to engage one of the plurality of distinct connection locations.

Adjustable mounting mechanism for a rearview assembly

A rearview device includes a connector assembly that has a body that includes a plurality of electrical leads that extend therefrom and are removably coupled therewith. A plurality of contact-receiving apertures extend through the body and receive a plurality of spring contacts on a circuit board. The plurality of spring contacts abut and are compressed between the circuit board and the body. The plurality of spring contacts directly engage the plurality of electrical leads when inserted into the plurality of contact-receiving apertures. A plurality of peripheral walls are adjacent the circuit board.

The disclosure provides for a display apparatus for a vehicle for displaying images captured by at least one image sensor to a driver of the vehicle. The display apparatus includes a display projector configured to project images derived from the image data, a display screen for displaying images projected thereon by the display projector, and a reflector positioned to reflect the images from the display screen towards a viewing direction. According to one embodiment, the display apparatus further includes an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the display projector relative to the vehicle. According to another embodiment, the display apparatus further includes a frame assembly on which the display projector, the display screen, and the reflector are mounted, the frame assembly is mounted to the vehicle such that the frame assembly may be moved relative to the vehicle to adjust the positions of the display projector, the display screen, and the reflector.

A headlamp assembly includes a housing. A headlamp is disposed within the housing. An image sensor is disposed within the housing and is configured to detect a light source. A controller is operably coupled to the image sensor and the headlamp. The controller is operable to control the headlamp in response to the light source detected by the image sensor.
