A thermoforming device heats a plastic film to a substantially uniform temperature, in order to impart a curved shape to said film. The device includes a chamber, the internal pressure of which is variable and which is closed by the film, a system for measuring a sag in the film arranged outside the chamber and opposite said film, and a system for heating the film. The heating system includes a hot air blowing unit which is suitable for producing a hot airflow flowing parallel to the film between two opposite edges of said film.

Device for thermoforming a plastic film

The invention relates to a method for adjusting the position of a transparent element (), consisting in forming an image of a peripheral edge (B) of the transparent element, using the light diffused by said peripheral edge. In this way, movements by the transparent element relative to reference marks can be followed on a screen or carried out automatically based on an analysis of the image. The method can be used to apply a piece of film () to a spectacle lens, adjusting the distance between the respective peripheral edges (B, B) of the spectacle lens and the piece of film.

Method for adjusting the position of a transparent element

A chamber includes a sealed connection assembly sliding inside a translation plane, having two rigid parts, one of which comprises a groove. A planar seal and at least one O-ring seal are positioned in the groove, with the O-ring seal under the planar seal. An active surface of the planar seal, which projects above the groove, is compressed against a planar bearing surface of the other rigid part. The chamber can be used in a device for applying a plastic film onto a spectacle lens, in order to move the lens inside a variable-pressure space.

A method of transferring a portion of a functional film () onto a substrate from a base plate () comprises the formation of a groove (S) which passes through the said functional film and also a separating film () placed between the functional film and the base plate. A portion () of the separating film is then detached from the base plate with the portion of the functional film. The portion of said separating film protects the portion of the functional film in the rest of the method. According to one improvement, the portion of the functional film which is detached from the base plate comprises a useful portion () and a margin () that are connected together by the portion () of the separating film. The useful portion () of the functional film may then be gripped and handled via the margin ().
