The present disclosure provides processes for producing images with toner particles. In embodiments, toner particles of a certain diameter in size are applied to a substrate as an incomplete monolayer, and then fused to form an image that is a complete monolayer and possesses a thickness less than the diameter of the particles utilized to form the image.

Imaging processes

A solid ink including an ink vehicle and a colorant, the colorant includes an orange colorant and a red colorant, where the orange colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 400 to about 560 nm, and where the red colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 510 to 580 nm. The ink substantially matches PANTONE&#xae; Red 032 or PANTONE&#xae; Warm red.

Solid red ink formulations

Red toners that approximate PANTONE&#xae; Red 032 and PANTONE&#xae; Warm Red are described. The colorant includes an orange colorant and a red colorant, where the orange colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 400 to about 520 nm, and where the red colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 500 to 580 nm.

Red toners

Various methods and devices transfer test patches of marking material from a marking device of a printing apparatus to a transfer surface of the printing apparatus, optically measure the density of the test patches on the transfer surface using an optical sensor of the printing apparatus, and measure the electrostatic differences in charge of the transfer surface as the test patches on the transfer surface move by an electrostatic sensor of the printing apparatus. Such methods and devices adjust settings of the marking device based on output from the electrostatic sensor alone, or based on a combination of the output from the optical sensor and converted output from the electrostatic sensor.

The present disclosure relates to a toner design for a clear UV red fluorescence toner having a high lanthanide complex pigment loading, including methods of making the fluorescence toner using a saccharide or a sugar acid to avoid complexation of lanthanide ions from the pigment, with lower aggregation and coalescence temperatures in the preparation of toner particles, where the particles exhibit a narrow size distribution and good xerographic performance.

UV red fluorescent EA toner

A low melt or ultra low melt toner includes at least one amorphous polyester of an alkoxylated bisphenol based polyester, a crystalline polyester derived from the reaction of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or aromatic dicarboxylic acid with an aliphatic diol, at least one colorant and at least one fluorescence agent. Methods of authentication of the toner, of authentication of documents formed from the toner, of embedding information in documents, and the like are also set forth.

Low melt color toners with fluorescence agents

The present disclosure provides toners and processes for making said toners. In embodiments, the toners are invisible when viewed under natural light, but possess a fluorescent agent that renders them visible when exposed to UV light of a specific wavelength. In other embodiments the toners have a color under natural light, and a different color when exposed to UV light.

Toner processes

The present disclosure describes toner compositions containing an additive package including one or more additives that exhibit low dielectric loss, which toners exhibit improved tribo charging, 2transfer efficiency and IQ without affecting color.

A radiation curable ink including at least one curable monomer, at least one organic gellant, at least one photoinitiator, and a colorant, the colorant includes an orange colorant and an red colorant, where the orange colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 400 to about 560 nm, and where the red colorant absorbs light having a wavelength of from about 460 to 580 nm. The ink substantially matches PANTONE&#xae; Red 032 or PANTONE&#xae; Warm Red.

Radiation curable red gel ink formulations

The present disclosure describes toner compositions comprising an alkyl surface-treated silica, which toners exhibit improved tribo-charging, second transfer efficiency and IQ without impacting color.

Alkyl silane surface treated silica for toner

The present disclosure provides toners and processes for making said toners. In embodiments, the toners include a fluorescent additive having a fluorescent agent. Toners are colorless when viewed under natural light but when exposed to UV light of a specific wavelength the toners are rendered bright green due to the presence of the fluorescent agent.

The present disclosure provides polymeric additives for use with toner particles. The polymeric additive of the present disclosure includes a copolymer possessing at least one monomer having a high carbon to oxygen ratio, a monomer having more than one vinyl group, and at least one amine-functional monomer. Toners possessing this polymeric additive exhibit excellent stability with respect to relative humidity and excellent charging characteristics.

Toner compositions and processes

The present disclosure provides toners having a tunable gloss level, electrophotographic apparatus for suing such toners as well as processes for making such toners.
