An agricultural harvester includes: a harvester frame; an agricultural header coupled with the harvester frame, the agricultural header including a plurality of deck plates; and a control system operatively coupled with the harvester frame and the agricultural header, the control system including: at least one sensor coupled with the agricultural header and configured for: detecting a crop material condition associated with a harvesting operation, the crop material condition being a crop material diameter; outputting a crop material condition signal corresponding to the crop material condition; a controller operatively coupled with the at least one sensor and configured for: receiving the crop material condition signal; determining an operative parameter of the plurality of deck plates based at least in part on the crop material condition signal and at least one offset condition signal.

A stalk roller assembly for an agricultural system includes a stalk roller having a hollow shaft. The hollow shaft has a first end having a first shape, such that the first end engages a guide element. Furthermore, the hollow shaft has a second end having a second shape that engages a drive shaft, such that the first shape is different than the second shape. In addition, the hollow shaft is formed from a single piece of material.

An agricultural header includes: a header frame; at least one cutting unit carried by the header frame and including a cutting element and a driveshaft coupled to the cutting element; and a gearbox configured to drive the cutting element. The gearbox includes a gearbox output rotatably coupled to the driveshaft; and a clutch including an intermediate shaft and at least one clutch shoe rotatably coupled to the intermediate shaft and displaceable between a non-engaging position where the at least one clutch shoe does not engage the gearbox output and an engaging position where the at least one clutch shoe engages the gearbox output. The clutch is configured such that the at least one clutch shoe displaces to the engaging position when a rotational speed of the intermediate shaft reaches a threshold value.

Each of the stalk rolls have a forward section with an annular base tapered towards the forward end and spiral auger flights that overlap one another and cooperate with adjacent bases to positively move crop stalks in an aft direction.

The face of the stomping shoe is provided with a plurality of structures to guide each stalk of corn along a predefined path on the face while the stalks of corn are flattened. The stalk splitter includes a disk blade biased against the ground for splitting stalks of corn after they are processed by row units of the corn header.
