This invention, in embodiments, relates to a roofing material having a top edge, a bottom edge that is opposite to the top edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge that is opposite to the first side edge. The roofing material further includes (i) at least one water channel that extends along the first side edge, from the top edge to the bottom edge of the roofing material, and (ii) at least one attachment tab that is disposed on the first side edge. This invention further relates to a roofing system that includes such a roofing material and a method of installing thereof.

A roofing composite membrane includes a base layer including a first thermoplastic polyolefin. A weight of the base layer is between 5 and 25 grams per square foot. A coating layer at least partially coats the base layer. The coating layer includes at least one inorganic additive, and a second thermoplastic polyolefin including polypropylene and having a melt flow rate between 0.5 grams per 10 minutes and 12 grams per 10 minutes.

Composite membrane for building applications

Some embodiments relate to a roofing structure. The roofing structure comprises a plurality of roofing membranes positioned on a roofing substrate. Each of the plurality of roofing membranes comprises an edge portion that abuts or overlaps with, or is adjacent to, an edge portion of another roofing membrane, so as to define a plurality of seams between adjacent roofing membranes. The roofing structure further comprises a plurality of standing seam structures positioned over the plurality of seams so as to conceal the plurality of seams.

Roofing structures and related methods

A hail resistant roofing system and method includes a roofing substrate such as a shingle or tile or membrane having an array of exposed upwardly projecting features. The features may rise to sharp points and may have side surfaces that are angled relative to the plane of the roofing substrate. The features are spaced and arranged so that a large hail stone capable of damaging the roofing substrate will always impact one or more of the exposed features. This can break up the hail stone into smaller benign pieces or can redirect the energy and direction of the hail stone so that the impact is absorbed without damage to the roofing substrate.

A roofing system has metal roofing shingles that have formed side lap features that are configured to facilitate alignment of adjacent side lapped metal roofing shingles of a shingle installation along a roofing structure and that couple the metal roofing shingles together and form seals and seams along their side lapped peripheral edges. The metal roofing shingles also can have alignment features that cooperate to align shingles in one course with shingles in a next lower course within their headlap regions. The roofing system also has standing seam features configured to couple to the metal roofing shingles to cover the formed seams.

A roofing system has metal shingles that have formed side lap features that are configured to facilitate alignment of adjacent side lapped metal shingles of a shingle installation along a roofing structure and that couple the metal shingles together and form seals along their side lapped peripheral edges. Roofing panels with water shedding features may be installed on the roof of a house or other structure in lieu of or as an underlayment for traditional roofing materials. The water shedding features can be built into a base of the roofing panels, as part of a frame for the roofing panels, or formed as part of a waterproofing layer applied to the base of the roofing panels, or which can be configured as a roofing panel. The roofing panels also can be installed in overlapping courses along a roof with water shedding features applied thereto or incorporated along one or more peripheral edges. The water shedding features of adjacent roofing panels will collect and divert water away from the upper surfaces and/or away from headlap and/or sidelap joints defined between the roofing panels.

A system includes a solar panel unit comprising at least one solar panel connected to a respective molten salt cell, a wind motor unit comprising at least one wind motor that is powered by the solar panel unit, each wind motor having a channel, a turbine unit comprising at least one turbine, each turbine associated with a respective wind motor via the channel, the turbine unit powered by the wind motor unit, a first battery receiving and storing power generated by the turbine unit to be used by the system, a second battery receiving and storing power generated by the turbine unit for use outside of the system, and a housing that protects at least the wind motor unit and the turbine unit.

A steep slope roofing panel system includes an underlayment and a plurality of roofing panels installed atop the underlayment. The panels may be installed to provide both protection from the environment and watershedding. Alternatively, the panels and the underlayment may share the watershedding functions of the roof, with one as a primary watershedding component and the other as an auxiliary watershedding component. The roofing system may be custom manufactured off-site based upon predetermined measurements and characteristics of a roof and its protrusions. Alternatively, the roofing system may be custom manufactured at the job site based upon such measurements and characteristics. Each panel may be assigned to a location on the roof and may include imprinted instructions regarding cutting and/or bending the panel to form flashing, drip edges, or other features, as well as the panel's location and installation sequence on the roof.

Steep slope roofing panel system and method

A boom suspension system may comprise a center frame operably connected to a main frame with linkages configured for vertical movement. A sensor may be operably connected to a pair of boom structures, which may extend laterally outward from opposing sides of the center frame. A controller may be configured to receive input data from the sensor and determine forces or flow rate to tilt cylinders, which may be coupled between each boom structure and the center frame. Each tilt cylinder may be operably connected to a hydraulic circuit, which may comprise a flow control mode and a pressure control mode determined by the controller. The hydraulic circuit may comprise a first set of valves in parallel with a second set of valves. Each set of valves may comprise a solenoid valve in series with a pressure regulating valve and a pressure sensor disposed on either side of each solenoid valve.

Sprayer boom control for improved ride and control

A method includes obtaining a roofing membrane. A first layer of the roofing membrane is applied along a length of a roofing substrate covering a first portion of the roofing substrate. At least a first edge of the first layer is fastened to the roofing substrate. A second layer of the roofing membrane is applied over the first layer along the length of the roofing substrate such that a first edge of the second layer overlies the second edge of the first layer. The first edge of the second layer and the second edge of the first layer are fastened to the roofing substrate using a second fastener in a fastening zone along the length the roofing substrate. The second layer is reoriented such that the second layer overlies the fastening zone and covers a second portion of the roofing substrate adjacent the first portion of the roofing substrate.
