The invention relates generally to a bracket adaptable to mount upon a wall stud and resist displacement of the bracket in response to external forces, thereby maintaining one or more securely enclosed conductors at least a fixed distance from an installed sheet of drywall. A mounting portion is shaped to permit fastening to a wall stud. A lateral support portion is attached to the mounting portion and at an angle relative to the mounting portion such that upon fastening of the bracket to the wall stud an edge of the lateral support portion engages the wall stud and resists displacement of the bracket. The lateral support portion includes an aperture wherein the conductors may be placed such that they extend substantially parallel to the plane of the wall stud, and are also thereby positioned at least a fixed distance from the plane of the sheet of drywall.

Self-correcting conductor positioning bracket

A universal bracket is provided for mounting electrical boxes. The bracket includes a generally rectangular first plate having at least one aperture defined within the first plate. The aperture is shaped to provide access to an electrical box mounted to the first plate, and further includes first and second pairs of diagonally opposite corners. A second plate extends rearward and substantially perpendicular to the first plate and located proximate a first side of the aperture. The first plate further includes one or more fastening portions and a plurality of mounting holes disposed about the fastening portions. One or more of the mounting holes are positioned for mounting the bracket to a vertical structural member adjacent either of two opposite sides of the bracket or a horizontal element adjacent a third side of the bracket, maintaining a particular bracket orientation.

A cable management system for routing cable with respect to electronic equipment. This system has a variety of improvements providing greater flexibility in routing cable to and from the equipment.

Cable manager with adjustable cable guides

This invention relates to a bracket for mounting an electrical box on a mounting bar device. The bracket has a central section having a channel-shaped recess. The bracket also has end sections at opposite ends of the central section. The end section have bar device openings that are generally aligned with the channel-shaped recess of the central section. The bar device openings and the channel-shaped recess are adapted to slidably receive the mounting bar device. The electrical box is secured to the central section of the bracket using a first fastener element. The bracket is secured to the mounting bar device using a second fastener element. The bracket may also be convertible for use in mounting an electrical box on a vertical mounting rod.

Cable management system

A junction for the joinder of convergent cable trays. The junction comprises a panel for interconnection of the trays, and at least one cable guide extending up from an upper face of the panel having a curved surface for guiding cable as it is pulled around from one tray to another. The curvature of the surface is such as to enable the bending of the cable as it is pulled around the curved surface while preserving the integrity of the cable. The junction includes several different features. In one feature, the cable guide is removably fastened on the panel.

Cable tray junction

A rack, especially for holding units of electrical equipment one above another, comprising an open rectangular frame having opposite faces. The frame comprises a base, sides constituted by channels, a head and feet on the base for standing it upright, components being configured to be self-squaring for facilitating assembly.

Rack

A connector for connecting a seismic brace to a support rod, such as for a cable tray, to inhibit movement of the rod during seismic activity. The connector comprises a metal connecting member having an upper portion and a lower portion joined at a juncture. Openings in the juncture, upper portion and lower portion define a slot for entry of the support rod into the slot. The connector further comprises a retainer inserted in a gap between the upper and lower portions. The retainer bridges the slot to retain the support rod in the slot. The connector permits bracing to be added without removal of the support rod from the tray and ensures that the brace remains attached during seismic activity, even where a retaining nut holding the connector to the support has become loosened.

Seismic bracing connector

A new and useful clip is disclosed for securing an elongate member, or lather's channel, to a horizontal T-bar of a ceiling grid, conventionally used to form a drop ceiling. The clip comprises a body having a downwardly opening recess therein for permitting the body to be placed over the lather's channel, without removing the channel from the T-bar. The lather's channel is in a seated position in which the channel is received in the recess of the clip. The clip has clasps depending from the body configured so that as the body is moved toward its seated position, the clasps assume positions on opposite sides of the stem of the T-bar for clasping the T-bar and securing the clip to the T-bar. The clip further includes a spring finger formed integrally with the body. The finger is engageable with the lather's channel as the body is moved to its seated position. The spring finger is moved from a relaxed condition to a sprung condition in which it exerts a spring force against the lather's channel to hold it within the recess of the clip.

A cable support system comprising a series of elongate racks connected together end-to-end, each rack having upper and lower metal tubes of circular cross-section extending longitudinally at the sides thereof, stamped sheet metal cross-members extending between the lower tubes, and stamped sheet metal side members extending between the upper and lower tubes at each side of the rack, a method of constructing the support with a change in direction, and a method of supporting cable with the cable enclosed in components of the racks.

Cable support systems, methods, and rack therefor

A cable tray including a pair of generally parallel or concentric spaced-apart metal side rails and a plurality of spaced apart rungs secured to and extending between the rails at intervals spaced along the rails. The rails and rungs define a cable fill area therebetween. The spacing of the rungs is set according to a pi spacing factor. The rails can have laterally projecting top flange members that extend outwardly in a direction away from the cable fill area and can have lower flange members that extend inwardly in a direction into the cable fill area. The top flanges have a plurality of spaced apart apertures therethrough.

Cable tray

A support for mounting a lighting fixture in recessed position in a suspension ceiling of inverted T-bars extending generally parallel to one another and spaced apart a certain distance. The support is in the form of an elongate sheet metal bar for installation in generally vertical position bridging two T-bars. As installed, the sheet metal bar has upper and lower edges and a pair of notches in its lower edge spaced apart the aforesaid distance. The sheet metal bar is placeable in a bridging position on the two inverted T-bars with the two T-bars extending through the notches in the support bar. The sheet metal bar has end portions extending outward beyond the notches. Each end portion includes a primary tab bendable to extend generally at right angles with respect to the sheet metal bar in position extending alongside an outside face of the respective inverted T-bar. The primary tab is formed to define a secondary tab for being bent to extend generally at right angles to the remainder of the primary tab over the enlarged edge of the respective inverted T-bar.

Recessed lighting fixture mounting

A relay rack for supporting electronic components having a swinging door frame with a simple mechanism for selectively opening either left or right hand sides of the door frame while preventing inadvertent simultaneous release of both sides. The relay rack comprises a top frame, a bottom frame, a rectangular door frame, and four pivot pins on the door frame. Recesses in the top and bottom frames receive the pivot pins. Latching bars are mounted to the top and bottom frames for sliding movement to the left and to the right relative to the frames for holding or releasing the pivot pins from the recesses so the door frame can be swung open and closed about either a left or right vertical pivot axis. The top and bottom frames are releasably fastened to the back frame to permit removal and replacement by different top and bottom frames whereby a front-to-back dimension of the rack may be readily changed without replacing the back frame or the door frame.

A support clip for supporting cable in a generally horizontal position. The support clip comprises a generally J-shaped hook having a central cable supporting portion and first and second legs extending up from opposite ends of the central cable supporting portion. The clip further comprises a retaining member movable from a cable receiving position in which the retaining member is attached to the first leg and held in a position in which the retaining member does not interfere with insertion or removal of the cable in or from the support clip, to a cable retaining position in which the retaining member extends from the first leg to the second leg generally parallel to the central cable supporting portion to retain the cable within the hook of the support clip, and back to its cable receiving position.

Cable support having pivotally and slidable retainer

A clevis hanger for supporting conduit comprising a lower hanger member formed from a strap of metal bent into a generally U shape and having an arcuate bottom and a pair of generally parallel arms extending upwardly from the bottom. The arcuate bottom has a middle region generally midway between the arms for supporting the conduit. An upper hanger member has a pair of arms depending generally downward therefrom, and each arm of the upper hanger member has a lower portion. Each of the arms of the lower hanger member and each of the lower portions of the arms of the upper hanger member has an opening therein. The openings are in generally horizontal alignment with one another when the upper and lower hanger members are connected. An elongate fastener extends through the openings to connect the upper and lower hanger members. The middle region of the arcuate bottom of the lower hanger member has, as viewed in transverse cross section, a central portion and two side margins extending laterally outwardly from the central portion such that the central portion forms a ridge on an inner surface of the arcuate bottom.
