Improved compositions comprise polymer blends of a linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon and a polyblend with a rubber modifier incorporated therein, and optionally, an acidic polymer containing moieties of an .alpha.-olefin and an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid. The blends demonstrate improved processability and impact strength.

Polyketone polymer blends

Improved compositions comprise polymer blends of a linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon with an amorphous olefinic copolymer which is optionally maleated. The blends demonstrate improved barrier properties.

Improved compositions with a good balance of properties comprise polymer blends of a linear alternating polyketone polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon with a cracked polyolefin polymer. The cracked polyolefin polymer is preferably a cracked polypropylene or polybutylene polymer.

Improved compositions comprise polymer blends of a linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon with an ethylene/propylene/non-conjugated diene terpolymer, and, optionally, an acidic polymer containing moieties of an .alpha.-olefin and an .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid. The blends demonstrate improved barrier properties.

A composition comprising a non-miscible blend of, as a major component, a linear alternating polymer of carbon monoxide and at least one ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon and lesser amounts of a maleated, partially hydrogenated block copolymer, said block copolymer having at least one at least predominantly polymerized vinyl aromatic compound block and at least one at least predominantly aliphatic polymerized conjugated alkadiene block, and ceramic fiber reinforcement.

Elastomeric, ceramic fiber reinforced polyketone polymer blends

Improved compositions comprise isomorphic polymer blends of at least two linear alternating polymers of carbon monoxide and one or more ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbons. A preferred composition is the combination of a linear alternating polyketone copolymer of carbon monoxide and ethylene with a linear alternating polyketone terpolymer of carbon monoxide, ethylene, and a second ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbon of at least 3 carbon atoms, particularly propylene.

This polymer blend has and exhibits a good overall balance of physical properties including improved stiffness and heat resistance, and impact resistance and elongation at break over that of a polymer containing glass fibers alone. A process of preparing the polymer blend and articles of manufacture produced from the composition are also disclosed.
