The present disclosure describes systems and methods for the granular, interference aware selection of modulation and coding schemes (MCS) per-sub-band, per-stream, and in some examples, per-user. In some examples, channel condition metrics regarding wireless communication conditions, including interference conditions, from a communication node of a wireless access system may be received. Based at least on the received channel condition metrics indicative of interference, a multidimensional interference margin generator may determine a per-sub-band per-stream margin. A modulation and coding scheme may be selected based on the per-sub-band per-stream margin. In some examples, the selected modulation and coding scheme may be transmitted to various modulators/demodulators, encoders/decoders, and/or other communication nodes within the wireless access system. In some examples, a scheduler may select an allocation based at least on the per-sub-band per-stream margin.

Systems and methods for per-sub-band, per-stream, and per-user selection of modulation and coding schemes including scheduling using channel condition metrics indicative of channel interference

Systems and methods are described for performing interference-resistant calibration and compensation of radio-frequency (RF) and analog front-end electronics of antenna-array based receivers during active operation. Examples of systems and methods are described herein that may provide interference-resistant calibration maintenance and ongoing compensation for changing gain and phase in receiver front-end electronic components, due to manufacturing tolerances and operational and environmental factors such as variations in temperature, humidity, supply voltage, component aging, connector oxidation, mechanical stresses and vibration, and/or maintenance operations such as sparing and swapping of cables, front-end electronics modules, and/or associated circuitry.

Interference resistant method for in-situ operational calibration and compensation of gain and phase variations in antenna array receiver RF and analog front-end electronics

A method of wirelessly communicating a packet includes generating, at a first wireless device, a first packet including a first preamble decodable by a plurality of devices and a second preamble decodable by only a subset of the plurality of devices. The first preamble includes a first signal field. The second preamble includes a first training field. The method further includes transmitting the first packet concurrently with one or more second packets to be transmitted by wireless devices other than the first wireless device.

Methods and apparatus for packet acquisition in mixed-rate wireless communication networks

Methods and apparatuses for communicating over a wireless communication network are disclosed herein. One method includes selecting one of a plurality of allocation schemas for allocation of wireless resources to wireless communication devices. The method further includes generating an allocation message comprising an identifier of the selected allocation schema and one or more allocations of wireless resources according to selected allocation schema. The method further includes transmitting the allocation message to one or more wireless communication devices.

Allocation signaling for wireless communication networks

A method of wirelessly communicating a packet including a first portion for transmission over at least one channel of a first transmission type and a second portion for transmission over at least one channel of a second transmission type. In one aspect, the method includes generating, at a wireless device, a packet including a first portion having a first symbol duration. The packet further includes a second portion having a second symbol duration greater than the first. The second portion can include a plurality of repeated portions of the signal field, the repeated portions having the second symbol duration. The first portion includes a first training field. The method further includes prepending or appending a second training field to the first portion. The second training field has the second symbol duration. The method further includes transmitting the packet.

A method for high efficiency wireless communication is provided. In one aspect, a method of high efficiency wireless communication includes generating, at an access point, a message for transmission over at least one channel. The message includes a first signal field indicative of a length of the first message after the first signal field. The message further includes a second signal field indicative of at least one channel assignment. The second signal field has a length based on a minimum allocation size. The method further includes transmitting the message to one or more wireless devices.
