A self-organized mesh network is disclosed. In a non-limiting example, the self-organized mesh network can be an ultra-wideband (UWB) based mesh network. Herein, the self-organized mesh network includes multiple node clusters, each anchored by a respective coordinating node. In an embodiment, the coordinating node can detect a secure node(s) and a secure bridge node(s) among the secure node(s) in a respective node cluster and establish secure communication links (e.g., based on UWB protocol) with the detected secure node(s) and secure bridge node(s). Further, through the detected secure bridge node(s), the coordinating node can further detect adjacent and non-adjacent node clusters. Accordingly, the coordinating node can establish secure communications with the detected adjacent and/or non-adjacent node clusters.

Self-organized mesh network

A piece of mobile vehicle equipment includes a V2X communication management device connected to a cellular communication network. The communication management device includes a Radio Access Technology selection unit that determines the Radio Access Technologies (RAT) available to be used for transmitting a data packet, associated with a V2X application executed by the piece of mobile vehicle equipment, to at least one receiving device. Systems and methods of assessing a plausibility of a ranging measurement are provided. In some embodiments, a method of assessing a plausibility of a ranging measurement includes: obtaining the ranging measurement from a remote device; obtaining one or more measurements associated with the ranging measurement; and based on the one or more measurements associated with the ranging measurement, determining the plausibility of the ranging measurement. The embodiments disclosed herein determine the reliability of the measured range and thus enforce the security level of Ultra-WideBand (UWB) transactions to be secured. Some embodiments are based on existing and standardized metrics. Some embodiments include a capability to auto-assess whether it is reliable to estimate the plausibility of the transaction range. In some embodiments, the computations needed are relatively simple and can be performed by relatively simple devices.

Technologies for link capability estimation are disclosed. A compute device may determine a maximum radio bitrate for a certain connection, such as an LTE connection to a specific cell antenna. The compute device may also determine a maximum downlink bitrate for that connection, and store both the maximum radio bitrate and the maximum downlink bitrate in a database on the compute device. At a later time, an application of the compute device may want to know an estimate of the current maximum downlink bitrate, such as for the purpose of selecting a bitrate in streaming a video. The compute device can determine the current maximum radio bitrate, and look for similar entries in the database. Based on entries in the database, a link capability estimation can be determined and provided to the application.

Method and system for improving video quality during call handover

The UE VoIP engine monitors the network pattern periodicity and implements a scalable scheduling strategy that can adapt the VoIP engine and audio driver scheduling to the current local radio configuration in one embodiment. By adapting its scheduling, the VoIP engine can reduce mouth-to-ear delay or power consumption without impacting the audio encoding quality. The UE VoIP engine sends some scheduling preference to the network base station. The network base station monitors UE preferences and decide whether to ignore or accept UE preferences and allows the UE to operate in the conditions that provides the best tradeoff between power consumption and mouth-to-ear delay.
