An absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet joined to the topsheet, and an absorbent core positioned intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet and comprising a core absorbent material, in which the core absorbent material comprises superabsorbent polymers with a bio-based content from about 5% to about 100% using ASTM D6866-10, method B and the absorbent article comprises a polyolefin content of at least about 90% by weight, based on a total weight of the absorbent article excluding the core absorbent material.

Recycle friendly and sustainable absorbent articles

An article including a front region, a back region, and a chassis. The chassis may include an absorbent core having a front end edge and a back end edge. The front region and the back region may extend laterally outward beyond side edges of the chassis. The front region and the back region may abut to form a first seam and a second seam. At least one of the front region and the back region may include an elastic member. A first outer nonwoven layer of the front region and a second outer nonwoven layer of the back region may be folded to form an upper edge in the front and back regions such that a distal end of each of the first and second outer nonwoven layer may be disposed between the upper edge and the front and back end edges of the absorbent core, respectively.

A multi-layer film having a first film layer being at least partially formed from a polymer (A) and a polymer (B) and a second film layer being at least partially formed from the polymer (A), the polymer (B), a polymer (C), and optionally an opacifying agent, wherein at least one of the polymer (A), the polymer (B) and the polymer (C) is synthetic and is at least partially derived from a renewable resource such that the multi-layer film has a bio-based content of about 10% to about 100% using ASTM D6866-10, method B. Multi-layer films and methods of forming same

A disposable absorbent article including a chassis. The chassis includes a front region having two opposing longitudinal edges, a back region having two opposing longitudinal edges, and a crotch region having two longitudinal edges. The crotch region is disposed between said front and back regions, and at least two side panels extend outwardly from the two opposing longitudinal edges of one or both of the front or back regions. The side panels may interconnect the front and the back regions to form a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. The article exhibits a pre-application side panel length, L, and a post-application side panel length, L, such that Lis less than L. The article may also include a plurality of graphics.

Absorbent article having telescoping waist

An article may include a chassis including an absorbent core that may extend from the front region to the back region. The article may also include a front panel and a back panel extending laterally outward beyond side edges of the chassis. The front panel and the back panel may abut to form a first seam and a second seam. At least one of the panels may comprise an elastic member. Absorbent article having a telescoping waist

An improved absorbent catamenial tampon having increased leakage protection and ability to readily absorb fluid while not aggressively adhering to tissue. This is accomplished with a tampon comprising a compressed absorbent member comprising an absorbent material. The compressed absorbent member of the tampon has an inner region and an exterior surface. The fluid wicking overwrap substantially covers the exterior surface of the compressed absorbent member, substantially permeates the inner region of the compressed absorbent member and extends beyond the withdrawal end to form a skirt portion. A method of making a tampon of the present invention is also disclosed.

Catamenial tampons having particularly desired expansion force characteristics are shown. The tampons comprise a mass of absorbent material which is fluid expanding. The tampons exert an X Dimension Force of at least about 400 grams, and a Z Dimension Force of less than about 200 grams. Alternatively, the ratio of the X Dimension Force to the Z Dimension Force is from about 10 to about 50.

Protection and comfort tampon

A tampon applicator for at least partially separating a tampon and inserting the tampon into a body cavity is provided. The tampon applicator has a tampon holder tube having interior and exterior surfaces, a longitudinal axis, a hollow portion and an expulsion end dimensioned for insertion into the body cavity. The tampon holder tube has a feature for separating and spreading a tampon apart during expulsion of the tampon. A plunger may also be telescopically and slidably mounted in the tampon holder tube distal to the expulsion end and adapted to directionally expel the tampon from the tampon holder tube when a user expels the tampon from the tampon holder tube.

Tampon applicator

A method for providing side-to-side coverage of a tampon within a female user's vaginal cavity is provided. By use of a tampon applicator designed to provide directional expulsion and suitable tampons for use in the tampon applicator, a female user may achieve side-to-side coverage of a tampon within her vaginal cavity. Such directional expulsion causes a suitable tampon to expand against the sides and/or walls of a female user's vaginal cavity.

A suitable tampon with a tampon applicator for expelling the tampon to provide side-to-side coverage and inserting the tampon into a body cavity is provided. The tampon applicator has a tampon holder tube having interior and exterior surfaces, a longitudinal axis, a hollow portion and an expulsion end dimensioned for insertion into the body cavity.
