A facility for provisioning and managing registered applications is described. Registered applications can be downloaded to a mobile device from an application provisioning server. When the download is complete, the mobile device may begin execution of the registered application. However, at least portions of the registered application cannot be executed by the mobile device without first passing control to an application provisioning server via a network connection. Upon receiving temporary control of the registered application, the application provisioning server can perform tasks such as license verification and other tasks before turning control of the application back to the mobile device.

Software application framework for network-connected devices

Systems, methods, and devices use search terms, current state information, historical data, and expected location hints to predict where a user may be when a search may be relevant. In an embodiment, search terms entered on a first user computing device may be combined with location information resident on a second user computing device to determine where a user is likely to be and what results are likely to be relevant to a user in the future. In a further embodiment, relevant search terms indicative of time, such as 'tomorrow' or 'tonight,' and/or user-related information may also be used to return predictive search results. In a further embodiment, user-related information from other users may also be used to return predictive search results.

Systems, methods, and devices enable group associations based on network determined location information. The various embodiments enable the ad-hoc creation of mobile device groups based on network determined locations. In an embodiment, a server may determine the location of a mobile device and based on the mobile device being located in a pairing zone may add the mobile device to a group. In an embodiment, the server may add the mobile device to the group following the occurrence of a trigger event, such as the mobile device pausing in a given pairing zone for a period of time. In an embodiment, the server may identify that mobile devices are located within a pairing zone and may add all the mobile devices in the pairing zone to the same group.

In an embodiment, an application server is configured to manage privacy settings of a subscriber for one or more social networking services. The application server determines a set of privacy settings (e.g., a manually configured or default set of privacy settings) of the subscriber for the one or more social networking services, and then receives, from the subscriber, permission to dynamically modify the set of privacy settings. The application server monitors, responsive to the received permission, passive behavior of the subscriber that is separate from interactions between the subscriber and the one or more social networking services (e.g., calls, text messages, instant messages made to/from the subscriber, a location of the subscriber, etc.). The application server triggers a modification to the set of privacy settings based on the monitored passive behavior of the subscriber.

Mobile device systems and methods for monitoring geofences cache a subset of geofences within a likely travel perimeter determined based on speed and direction of travel, available roads, current traffic, etc. A server may download to mobile devices subsets of geofences within a likely travel perimeter determined based on a threshold travel time possible from a current location given current travel speed, direction and roads. Mobile device may receive a list of local geofences from a server, which may maintain or have access to a database containing all geofences. The mobile device may use the cashed geofences in the normal manner, by comparing its location to the cached list of local geofences to detect matches. In an embodiment, the mobile device may calculate or receive from the server an update perimeter, which when crossed may prompt the mobile device to request an update to the geofences stored in cache.

An application provisioning server comprising instructions for (i) receiving a selection over a cellular network and (ii) providing over a cellular network, as a function of said selection, any of (a) a ranked list of music indicia, (b) news and reviews relating to a music artist or band or (c) information about a music artist or a band.
