The present invention includes providing a multidirectional antenna unit including a plurality of directional antenna elements configured to spatially segment an operational theatre into a plurality of segmented regions, receiving radio frequency signals via the plurality of directional antenna elements from the plurality of segmented region, identifying a directional antenna element having the highest signal-to-jamming ratio, and connecting the directional antenna element having the highest signal-to-jamming ratio to a multifunction information distribution system terminal.

A multichannel communications device is disclosed. The multichannel communications device includes more than one transceiver. The multichannel communications device also includes a first switch configured for switching between transceivers. Further still, the multichannel communications device includes more than one cryptographic element. Yet further still, the mulitchannel communications device includes a second switch which is configured to switch between the cryptographic elements. A switch policy is configured to control communications between the cryptographic elements, including restricting communications between the cryptographic elements.

Software radio system and method

A multi-channel radio operating with multiple security levels is disclosed. The multi-channel radio includes more than one input/output. Each of the input/outputs corresponds to a security level. The radio also includes a first common bus coupled to the more than one input/output and a first set of more than one processor coupled to the common bus. Each of the first set of processors corresponds to a security level. Further, the radio includes a second set of more than one processors coupled to the first set of processors and more than one transceiver. Each transceiver is coupled to at least one of the processors of the first set of processors.

A method and system for providing time division multiple access communications is disclosed. The disclosure includes sending a first message in a time slot. The time slot has a slot length. The first message has a first time associated therewith. The first time includes the time required to send the first message and the propagation delay associated with the reception of the first message by a second transceiver. The disclosure also includes determining time remaining in the time slot for sending a second message. The time remaining is based on the first time and the slot length. The disclosure also relates to sending a second message in the time slot if the length of the second message plus the length of the propagation delay associated with the second message is less than the time remaining in the time slot.

Time division multiple access system and method for using available TDMA slot time to transmit additional messages

A method of demodulating a frequency hopped waveform is disclosed. The method comprises receiving an analog radio frequency signal, converting the analog signal to a digital pulse signal, and determining the I and Q bits in the digital pulse signal. The method also comprises derotating the Q bits by a ninety (90) degree phase shift. The method further comprises deriving an approximate phase angle for the pulse from the I and derotated Q bits.

Coherent demodulation of hopped MSK waveforms system and method

An enhanced architecture time-shared data correlator for performing a predetermined number of correlation processes. A data shift register receives input data and loads the input data. A reference shift register receives reference data and loads and circulates the reference data. A pulse correlator connected to the shift register and the reference shift register correlates the input data with the corresponding reference data and provides a pulse correlator output. An accumulator connected to the pulse correlator receives and adds the pulse correlator outputs from the correlation processes to produce a correlator output corresponding to the predetermined number of correlation processes.
