A forklift includes a chassis, a mast hydraulically tiltable relative to the chassis in a primary tilting motion, a fork carriage for mounting forks for supporting a load, the fork carriage being hydraulically tiltable relative to the mast in a secondary tilting motion, and a hydraulic system having an operating element for a user to control the primary tilting motion and the secondary tilting motion. The hydraulic system is configured to carry out a hydraulic sequence control of the primary tilting motion and the secondary tilting motion.

Forklift

A forklift includes a cabin and a seat for use by a driver arranged in the cabin. The cabin has a lateral opening to enter and exit the cabin, and the seat is mounted rotatably relative to the cabin. There is a safety bracket for preventing the driver from involuntarily exiting the cabin through the lateral opening, and for providing lateral impact protection. The safety bracket is mechanically connected to the seat to be rotatable together with the seat.

A forklift includes a vehicle frame, wherein at least one load rest platform is movably arranged on the vehicle frame. The at least one load rest platform is movable between a storage position, in which no load can be deposited on the at least one load rest platform, and a working position, in which a load can be deposited on the at least one load rest platform. The at least one load rest platform is aligned essentially horizontally when moved to the working position, and the at least one load rest platform is movably arranged on an upper surface of the vehicle frame via at least one articulating joint. The at least one articulating joint connects the at least one load rest platform with a side face of the vehicle frame.

Load rest

A forklift linkage system () for movement has a levelling carriage assembly () movably contained within a channel assembly (). A main long link pivotally connects to the levelling carriage assembly () at a first pivot point () and a fork carriage assembly () at a second pivot point (). A short link () pivotally connects near a midpoint () of the main long link () at a third pivot point () and at a fixed pivot point () relative to the channel (), near a vertical offset position from the pivot point of the main long link () to the levelling carriage assembly () at a fourth pivot point (). A levelling link () pivotally connects to the levelling carriage assembly () at a fifth pivot point () and at the opposite end to a fork carriage assembly () at a sixth pivot point, such that the travel path of the second pivot point () connecting the main long link () to the fork carriage assembly () remains substantially perpendicular to the channel () when the linkage system () is moved between retracted and extended positions. The angle through the second pivot point () connects the main long link () to the fork carriage assembly (). The sixth pivot point () connects the levelling link () to the fork carriage assembly () substantially constant in relation to the channel () when the linkage system () is moved between retracted and extended positions.

Linkage system for a forklift truck

Forklift truck () includes a linkage system () which comprises first link arm () pivotally connected at one end to roller () at point () which is vertically movable within channel () of mounting carriage/member (), and to forks () at the opposite end via fork carriage () at pivot point (). Second link arm () is pivotally connected to first link arm () at pivot point (). The opposite end of second link arm () is pivotally connected to mounting carriage/member () at pivot point (). Pivot points () and () are positioned on or near the center line of channel (). The tilt angle of forks () and fork carriage () is restricted by link arm () which is pivotally connected at one end to second link arm () at pivot point () and pivotally connected at the opposite end to fork carriage () at pivot point (). During operation link arm () forces fork carriage () to rotate about pivot point () to compensate for the continuously changing angle of first link arm () while maintaining a generally fixed angle to channel () thus ensuring forks () remain substantially horizontal throughout the movement of the linkage system.

A forklift () of the type adapted to be transported on a carrying vehicle comprising a wheeled chassis () on which are mounted a pair of platform engaging load rest supports (). The load rest supports () comprise a pair of spaced-apart upright bars () which have a contact surface for engagement at Y of a platform (). The forklift truck () also has a mast () carrying extendable forks () to allow a load () to be placed on and removed from an extended position across the platform. The load rest support () allows the mast () to be tilted and if the mast () can also be side-shifted, then it can be side-shifted without interference with the platform (). This further prevents tilting of the forklift () in the direction of the arrow A.

Forklift loading support

A hydraulic drive system for a three-wheeled vehicle with drive assemblies including drive units having a single drive unit with two separate directly coupled drives and a pair of transverse drive units employing respectively separate directly coupled drives. There are hydraulic feed lines for parallel operation and for series operation, a secondary hydraulic feedline between the drive units and a secondary hydraulic feed line between the drive units and a hydraulic controller controls diverter valves for parallel and series operation. The hydraulic drive includes a steering system which senses out of line travel.

Hydraulic drive system

A drive controller for a hydraulic drive system, a three wheeled vehicle having a pair of transversely arranged in line of drive shaft assemblies and a single wheel drive shaft assembly each assembly including a drive unit having two separate drives and has for series operation secondary hydraulic feed lines between one of the drives of the single drive units and one of the drives of each transverse drive unit. A pressure release valve is provided in each secondary line which valve is fed through a non-return valve.
