An embodiment includes receiving requests for active process instance information and completed process instance information, maintaining an active process manager database and secondary process manager database(s) in a process management environment, with the active process manager database supporting newly created process instances and including information about active process instances, and the secondary process manager database(s) including information about completed process instances, and responding to the requests, the responding including accessing an appropriate process manager database of the active process manager database and the secondary process manager database(s) to obtain information for responding to a request, and responding to the request with the obtained information.

Transparent scalable access to active and completed process and task information

Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for distributing services to client systems to develop in a shared development environment. A first service is deployed to the first client system to develop the first service. A second service is deployed to the second client system to develop the second service. A call is received from the first service, executing in the first client system as part of development of the first service, to the second service. A determination is made as to whether the second service is deployed at the second client system and available in response to the call from the first service. A response is generated to the call to the second service from a component in the shared development environment in response to determining that the second service is deployed at the second client system and not available.

Distributing services to client systems to develop in a shared development environment

A method, system, and/or computer program product configures hierarchical cloud resources. A supervisor server receives a signal indicating a boundary of a set of hierarchical cloud resources. The boundary describes a level of resource sharing among the set of hierarchical cloud resources, which includes a set of software applications, a set of middleware that supports one or more software applications from the set of software applications, and a set of virtual mechanisms that supports one or more middleware from the set of middleware. The supervisor server receives a signal from one or more Isolation/Density (I/D) switches, which are associated with one or more software applications from the set of software applications and one or more middleware from the set of the middleware, and then configures the hierarchical cloud resources, according to the boundary of the set of hierarchical cloud resources, and according to settings of the I/D switches.

Managing application, middleware, and virtual mechanism density in a cloud

An application analysis mechanism analyzes a composite application for conformance to a set of component interaction rules that define one or more conditions that should be satisfied between components written in different languages, along with an action that is performed depending on the analysis of the conditions. Once the component interaction rules are defined, the composite application is received. Next, a model of the composite application is built that separates components of the composite application into categories based on the programming language used, and includes metadata to describe interaction between components. The set of component interaction rules is then run against the model of the composite application. The results of the analysis are then output. The automated analysis of composite applications removes much of the process that is prone to human errors to provide an efficient and consistent approach for analyzing composite applications.

Automated analysis of composite applications

A method, apparatus and program product facilitate the collaborative development of an algorithm by, in part, displaying an algorithm associated with a performance attribute, and receiving user input relating to the algorithm from a plurality of networked users. The performance attribute of the algorithm may be automatically modified based on the user input. The modified performance attribute may be displayed to the plurality of networked users. A query may be received from a user interested in the algorithm. In response to the user query, the algorithm may be located from among a plurality of algorithms. For instance, the algorithm may be located from among the plurality of algorithms by matching the performance attribute to a criterion of the user query. Alternatively or additionally, the algorithm may be located by matching the performance attribute to a profile of the user submitting the user query. Also in response to the user query, a second algorithm and/or performance attribute related to the algorithm, or another, may be displayed.

Collaborative program development method and system

An apparatus, system, and storage medium that in an embodiment receive a key parameter from a container-managed persistent bean, determine that the container-managed persistent bean is associated with a non-relational data store, creating a web service input message with the key parameter, and invoke a web service function with the web service input message to interface with a non-relational data store. The determination that the container-managed persistent bean is associated with a non-relational data store may be based on deployment description extension settings specified by a bean assembler. In this way, a container-managed persistent bean may be used to access a non-relational data store.

A computer implemented method, data processing system, and computer program product for providing a generic sequencing service for ordering processing requests in a scalable business integration environment. When a request is received at a sequencing component, the operation specified in the request is identified. A determination is then made as to whether to sequence the operation according to a sequencing specification. If the operation is to be sequenced, key information of the operation is classified according to the sequencing specification. A lock on the request is then requested using the operation and the key information. Responsive to the lock being granted, a determination is then made as to whether the request is synchronous or asynchronous. If the request is synchronous, the target service component is invoked synchronously. If the request is asynchronous, the target service component is invoked asynchronously.

Generic sequencing service for business integration

A method, that in an embodiment receives a key parameter from a container-managed persistent bean, determines that the container-managed persistent bean is associated with a non-relational data store, creating a web service input message with the key parameter, and invokes a web service function with the web service input message to interface with a non-relational data store. The determination that the container-managed persistent bean is associated with a non-relational data store may be based on deployment description extension settings specified by a bean assembler. In this way, a container-managed persistent bean may be used to access a non-relational data store.

A framework for use with object-oriented programming systems provides a common message processing system structure that can be placed on any OOP platform and be configured to support any e-mail message protocol standard or specific mail server function. The framework defines an e-mail message as a number of distinct objects, each of which contains information that describes some portion of the message. All messages received by a system in which the framework is implemented are defined on this core object structure. Another set of objects and methods define the processing steps required for a mail server to process a message. A message is received as a class of message objects, which are assigned a message type that determines the subsequent processing steps to which the message object is subjected. As a message is processed, the objects of which it is comprised are changed, so that the message processing can be interrupted and then resumed without loss or duplication of processing steps.

Object oriented mail server framework mechanism

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a managed object assembly (MOA) is used to abstract the business logic of a given system from the system's operational aspects or infrastructure-specific characteristics. The managed object includes a data object, a business object, a managed object, and a mixin object. By isolating the functions of the business logic from the infrastructure of the system (including database structure), a significant amount of flexibility can be obtained and system re-engineering becomes noticeably simpler. Specifically, by isolating the business logic from the system resource details, changes in the business logic can be made in a manner that is independent of any detailed knowledge of the resources accessed by the system. In addition, as the underlying infrastructure requirements and data structures are changed, only the data object portion and the mixin object portion of the MOA needs to be changed or updated to provide access to the newly modified data structures. This can create significant savings in time and money as a system is updated to provide additional capabilities.
