A new method of customized retrieval and presentation of information from a relational database is disclosed. The customization is achieved by modifying a first application for retrieval and presentation of information from a database in accordance with input provided by the user, at the time when the execution of the first application is requested by the user. The user input is solicited and gathered by a second application associated with the first application. After the user input is completed, the second application generates a script which modifies the first application. The modified first application is then executed and the requested information is retrieved and presented to the user in the form customized by the user input.

Customized retrieval and presentation of information from a database

A method, a system and a storage medium for preparing multilingual reports at client sites. The client sites are connected to a server and a data source. Each of the client sites may use a different locale. A product locale is selected at the client site for defining a user interface appearance. After a report specification is generated, a content locale is selected at the client site, which defines an appearance and a format of a report. A metadata model with run-time parameters is then constructed. The run-time parameters include mapping rules for the content locale. The run-time parameters are updated based on the content locale. A query is built using the report specification and the metadata model. Data appropriate to the individual content locale is then extracted from the same data source using the query.

System and method for the support of multilingual applications

A system and a method for localization of a base language computer software product into a target language computer software product. Input resource files were copied into a source directory, and synchronized with a reference directory and a synchronization directory; the resource strings to be translated in the resource files in the synchronization directory are flagged, and translated; the changes are tracked in the reference directory.
