Metallocene catalyzed polyethylene resin

Disclosed herein are an article and a method for preparing the article. The article comprises at least one layer A comprising fibers embedded in a composition comprising at least one vinyl ester resin; and a layer B comprising from 40 to 100% by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of at least one thermoplastic polyester; from 0 to 60% by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of a polyolefin composition; said composition comprising at least one polyolefin; and from 0 to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of at least one additive selected from compatibilizing agent and/or impact modifier. Layer B may comprise a blow-molded layer, an injected-molded layer, an extruded-thermoformed layer, a sheet-extruded layer, a pipe-extruded layer, and an injection stretch blow-molded layer. Layer A may be in contact with layer B.

Multilayered articles

A rotomolded article can have one or more layers, including a layer A. The layer A can have from 50 to 99.4 wt % of a polyolefin, from 0.5 to 50 wt % of a polyester, and from 0.1 to 20 wt % of a co- or ter-polymer. The co- or ter-polymer can have 50 to 99.9 wt % of an ethylene or a styrene monomer, 0.1 to 50 wt % of an unsaturated anhydride-containing monomer, epoxide-containing monomer or carboxylic acid-containing monomer, and 0 to 50 wt % (meth)acrylic ester monomer.

A layer B can be a PO that is dissimilar from layer A, an NPO, a mixture thereof, and optionally an FPO or a PO-g-NPO. Multilayer articles having reinforced structural properties are prepared by rotational molding of external and internal skin layers prepared from polyethylene resin and an intermediate layer prepared from foamed polyethylene. The composition of the external layer is fed as a dry blend into a mold, and the mold is placed in a pre-heated oven and rotated. The composition of the intermediate layer is fed as a dry blend into the mold, and the mold is placed in a pre-heated oven and rotated. The composition of the internal layer is fed as a dry blend into the mold, and the mold is placed in a pre-heated oven and rotated.

A rotomolded article may include at least one layer A containing fibers embedded in a polymer resin. The rotomolded article may include at least one layer B containing from 40 to 100 wt % of an aliphatic polyester. Such rotomolded articles may be prepared by applying to at least a part of an interior wall of a mold the at least one layer A, adding to the mold a composition for the at least one layer B, and rotating and heating the mold.
