In an example embodiment, a single machine learned model that allows for ranking of entities across all of the different combinations of node types and edge types is provided. The solution calibrates the scores from Edge-FPR models to a single scale. Additionally, the solution may utilize a per-edge type multiplicative factor dictated by the true importance of an edge type, which is learned through a counterfactual experimentation process. The solution may additionally optimize on a single, common downstream metric, specifically downstream interactions that can be compared against each other across all combinations of node types and edge types.

A system and method for proportioned power distribution in arrays of power converters are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a method includes distributing a node-specific transfer function to each node of a plurality of nodes via a communication bus. Each node includes a power converter, and nodes of the plurality of nodes are electrically connected in series. Each node-specific transfer function enables each node to contribute a positive impedance to a total impedance of the plurality of nodes. The computer-implemented method further includes coordinating a setting of a parameter of each node-specific transfer function to regulate a common bus current across the plurality of nodes, and assigning to each node an electrical characteristic based on a parameter of each node-specific transfer function.

Various embodiments provide a download bar user interface control that is designed to help users maintain focus on their browsing activities, while offering notifications regarding a file download. In at least some embodiments, the download bar user interface control is non-modal and is presented at a location within the browsing field-of-view that is selected to reduce user distraction. Various embodiments also provide a download manager user interface that enables multiple download-related tasks to be performed. In at least some embodiments, the download manager user interface is presented responsive to input to the download bar user interface control. Further to some embodiments, the download bar user interface control can be closed responsive to the download manager user interface being presented and download-related notifications and options transferred from the download bar user interface control to the download manager user interface.

In various embodiments, redirection techniques can be utilized to protect against insecure functionality, to mitigate scripting vulnerabilities, and to protect vulnerable exception handlers. In at least some embodiments, a program can be protected from a security vulnerability by using a runtime shield which changes the behavior of the program while it is running. The shield effectively provides a redirection solution that addresses the vulnerability while, at the same time, does not alter the particular program's executable code.

Various embodiments enable local web applications to communicate asynchronously with web based services and applications based on a local device's current state and a user's communications preferences. In at least some embodiments, a synchronization engine receives a message in a 'Web Inbox' from a web based service or application. The web application's response to the message may be transferred to a 'Web Outbox' where it resides until being sent to the web service. The synchronization engine then determines a time to transmit the response to the web service by querying the local device for its current state and a user's communication preferences.

Various embodiments detect security vulnerabilities and, responsively, can modify an affected program so that even if an exploit runs, the program's integrity can be maintained. In at least some embodiments, a local automatic vulnerability detection and response (AVD/R) component executes on a user's local machine to detect and mitigate potential vulnerabilities through the use of a shield; and, a remote automatic vulnerability detection and response (AVD/R) component executes to report perceived vulnerabilities so that one or more shields can be delivered and applied locally to mitigate perceived vulnerabilities.

The present invention provides a system, method, and computer readable medium for retrieving full media resources in an online environment by manipulating media resource summaries. Media resource summary copy requests are intercepted and instructions to retrieve a corresponding full media resource substituted. The full media resource, rather than the summary, is placed on a computer clipboard, which allows the full media resource to be inserted by a software application into a document. In varied aspects of the present invention, the types of copy events that may be intercepted include keystroke events, copy events, menu copy events, and 'drag and drop' copy events.

The present invention is directed to a method and system for providing up-to-date relevant information for an electronic document template, and documents created using a template. Each template is given a unique identifier when it is created. When a document is created using the template, the same template identifier is associated with the document. Various pieces of information written or assimilated by or for the author or authors of the template that help to explain how to use the template are associated with the template identifiers and stored in a remote data source. When a template or a document created using a template is opened that contains an identifier, a message is sent to the data store that results in the relevant information being retrieved. Retrieved relevant information is displayed in a pane adjacent to the template or the document created using the template.
