A method for injecting a loaded suspension into a fibrous texture having a three-dimensional or multilayer weaving includes the injection of a suspension containing a powder of solid particles into the volume of the fibrous texture. The injection of the loaded suspension is carried out by at least one hollow needle in communication with a loaded suspension supply device, each needle being movable in at least one direction extending between a first face and a second opposite face of the fibrous texture so as to inject the loaded suspension at one or more determined depths in the fibrous texture.

Method for injecting a loaded suspension into a fibrous texture and method for manufacturing a part made of composite material

A part made of oxide/oxide composite material includes fiber reinforcement constituted by a plurality of warp yarn layers and of weft yarn layers interlinked by three-dimensional weaving, with the spaces present between the reinforcing yarns being filled with a refractory oxide matrix. The fiber reinforcement presents a weave selected from the following weaves: interlock; multi-plain; multi-satin; and multi-serge, with warp and weft thread counts lying in the range 4 yarns/cm to 20 yarns/cm. The fiber reinforcement also presents a fiber volume fraction lying in the range 40% to 51%.

Part made from oxide/oxide composite material for 3-D reinforcing and method for manufacture of same

A part made of a porous material containing carbon, in particular a C/C composite material, is protected against oxidation by being impregnated with a composition in an aqueous medium containing at least a phosphorous compound, elemental titanium, and boron or a boron compound other than titanium diboride, to form in the presence of oxygen and at least one alkali or alkaline-earth element M that catalyzes oxidation of carbon, at least one P&#x2014;O&#x2014;Ti-M type association bonded by boron oxide BOand trapping the element M.

Protection against the oxidation of composite materials containing carbon

In order to provide a self-healing layer on a composite material part, a composition is applied to the part, the composition containing: a suspension of colloidal silica; boron or a boron compound in powder form; silicon carbide in powder form; and at least one ultra-refractory oxide.

Process for producing a self-healing layer on a part made of a C/C composite

A fiber preform constituting fiber reinforcement of a composite material part that is to be fabricated is made by superposing and bonding together fiber plies, and by densifying the needled preform by introducing a material constituting the matrix of the composite material into it. During the process of making the preform, a powder is dusted onto the surface of at least some of the plies, the powder comprising at least one ingredient selected from a solid resin in powder form and solid fillers in powder form. The powder is dusted onto the surface of the top ply of the preform that is being made, prior to superposing and needling at least one additional ply.

Making a needled fiber preform for fabricating a composite material part

An oxidation-sensitive composite has applied thereto a composition comprising a mixture of boride powder constituted for the most part of TiB , at least one vitreous refractory oxide powder constituted for the most part by a mixture of borosilicate glass, and a binder containing a ceramic-precursor resin. The resin is cured and is subsequently transformed into a ceramic by heat treatment or during first exposure of the coated part to high temperatures.

Protecting composite material parts against oxidation

A fiber preform constituting the fiber reinforcement of the part to be made is itself made by shaping and consolidating a fiber fabric by a liquid process. An interphase layer between the fibers and the matrix is formed on the consolidated preform prior to densification thereof with the matrix, such that the operation of densifying the consolidated preform can be performed without requiring supporting tooling therefor.
