A variable impedance interface device connecting a coaxial connector to an external component with a housing having a first end adapted to receive a coaxial connector and a second end having an interface where the housing is attachable to an external component, such as a printed circuit board. A cavity within the housing is defined by an inner surface and has a cavity first end and a cavity second end. The inner surface tapers between the cavity first end and the cavity second end. A mating position in the cavity has a certain dimension due to the taper of the inner surface, and defines a location at which a coaxial connector received by the housing positions. An impedance of the housing is based on the mating position and may be varied due to the impedance of the interface such that signal degradation at the interface is reduced.

Variable impedance coaxial connector interface device

A variable impedance interface device for connecting a coaxial connector to an external component is disclosed. The interface device has a housing having a first end adapted to receive a coaxial connector and a second end having an interface where the housing is attachable to an external component, such as a printed circuit board. A cavity within the housing is defined by an inner surface and has a cavity first end and a cavity second end. The inner surface tapers between the cavity first end and the cavity second end. A mating position in the cavity has a certain dimension due to the taper of the inner surface. The mating position defines a location at which a coaxial connector received by the housing positions. An impedance of the housing is based on the mating position and may be varied due to the impedance of the interface such that signal degradation at the interface is reduced.

The differential pair system includes a push-on high frequency differential interconnect and push-on high frequency differential connector. The system allows for blind mating of the two components, using a keying system for the two electrical conductors to be axially and radially aligned.

Digital, small signal and RF microwave coaxial subminiature push-on differential pair system

An electrical connector has first and second connector bodies. The first connector body has an inclined surface and the second connector body has arms that correspond to the inclined surfaces. At the end of the inclined surfaces are generally flat portions forming a ledge that prevent the connector bodies from separating. To unmate the connector bodies, one connector body is rotated relative to the other, causing the arms to move from the generally flat portion to the outer surface of the second connector to allow them to be moved axially away from one another.

Low resistance connector for printed circuit board

A mated coaxial contact system including a nano-miniature pin and socket contact centered in a shielding sleeve by a dielectric insulator. The pin and socket contacts are each mechanically crimped to the respective center conductor of the coaxial wire. The conductive braid of the coaxial wire is soldered to the shielding sleeve with a disc insulator overlaying the terminal end of the insulation encircling the center conductor, thus facilitating solder of the braid to the sleeve and preventing electrical shorts between the center conductor and the braid of the coaxial wire.
