A method for manufacturing a steel sheet provided with a coating included from 0.80 to 1.40 wt. % of Al, from 0.80 to 1.40 wt. % of Mg, unavoidable impurities and optionally one or more additional elements selected from Si, Sb, Pb, Ti, Ca, Mn, Sn, La, Ce, Cr, Zr or Bi, the weight content of each additional element in the coating being less than 0.3%, the remainder being Zn, the outer surface of the coated steel sheet having a waviness Wabefore skin-pass of less than or equal to 0.50 μm; the coated steel sheet obtained by this method; the part obtained by deformation of a steel sheet and a land motor vehicle comprising a body, the body including the part.

Method for manufacturing a steel sheet with a ZnAlMg coating, corresponding coated steel sheet, part and vehicle

A metal sheet is provided. The metal sheet includes a substrate having two faces, each face hot dip coated with a metal coating of zinc, aluminum and magnesium. The metal coatings include between 0.1 and 20 wt % of aluminum and 0.1 and 10 wt % of magnesium. Layers of magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide are formed on outer surfaces of the metal coatings. The layers are altered by applying an acid solution on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings or by applying mechanical forces using a roller leveler, a brushing device, or a shot-blasting device on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings. The metal sheet also includes a layer of oil deposited directly on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings.

Metal sheet having oiled Zn&#x2014;Al&#x2014;Mg coatings

A method is provided. The method includes providing a steel substrate having two faces coated by dipping the substrate in a bath, altering layers of magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide formed on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings by applying mechanical forces, rinsing and drying the outer surfaces, applying a conversion solution on the outer surfaces and painting the outer surfaces of the metal coatings. A metal sheet is also provided.

A method for producing a metal sheet is provided. The method includes providing a steel substrate having two faces, depositing a metal coating on each face by dipping the substrate in a bath, cooling the metal coatings, altering layers of magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide formed on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings, and depositing a layer of oil on the outer surfaces of the metal coatings.
