The invention provides low solar transmittance coatings that have particularly low solar transmittance. The coating includes three infrared-reflection film regions, which may each comprise silver. In some cases, the coating is incorporated into a laminated glass assembly.

Low solar transmittance coatings

A grasping tool for obtaining a firm grasp on a nut or other fastener structure that may be deformed in size or shape by time and damage. The tool includes a series of elongated fingers arranged radially in a group and mounted for longitudinal movement in a sleeve. A nut or other fastener to be removed is placed between ends of the fingers extending from the sleeve. As the sleeve is moved toward the nut or other fastener the wall of the sleeve pushes the ends of the fingers inward, to grasp firmly the nut or other fastener to be removed. Various structures and methods may be used to move the sleeve over the fingers and to rotate the grasping tool once attached firmly to the nut or other structure to remove the nut or other structure.

The invention provides low solar reflectance, low-emissivity coatings. The invention provides a monolithic pane bearing a low solar reflectance, low-emissivity coating. Further, the invention provides an insulating glass unit bearing a low solar reflectance, low-emissivity coating. Finally, the invention provides methods of producing coated substrates by depositing low solar reflectance, low-emissivity coatings.

Coatings having low emissivity and low solar reflectance

A pulling tool for pulling nails, screws, rivets, pegs, or other protrusions includes a jaw which may be opened to receive the head of the protrusion. The jaw is then at least partially closed against the protrusion, and when the handle of the tool is pulled, the jaw is both urged shut and also away from the surface from which the protrusion extends. Thus, as the protrusion is pulled, its shaft is also more tightly grasped, which helps to pull the protrusion from the surface without stripping off its head/cap. The pulling tool can be provided as a part of a hammer, crowbar, or other conventional tool.

Tool for pulling nails and other protrusions

The present invention provides a coating for a transparent substrate which exhibits a 'neutral' color through a wide range of angles of incidence of light. The coating employs a base coat adjacent the transparent substrate having a thickness of no more than about 275 &#x212b; and may include two reflective metal layers having an intermediate layer of an anti-reflective metal oxide therebetween and an outer anti-reflective layer of metal oxide over the second reflective metal layer. If so desired, the coating of the invention may include an abrasive-resistant overcoat as its outermost layer. This overcoat is desirably formed of an abrasive-resistant metal oxide, such as zinc oxide applied at a thickness which does not significantly affect the optical properties of said coated substrate.

High transmittance, low emissivity coatings for substrates

The present invention provides a coating for a transparent substrate which exhibits a &ldquo;neutral&rdquo; color through a wide range of angles of incidence of light. The coating employs a base coat adjacent the transparent substrate having a thickness of no more than about 275 &angst; and may include two reflective metal layers having an intermediate layer of an anti-reflective metal oxide therebetween and an outer anti-reflective layer of metal oxide over the second reflective metal layer. If so desired, the coating of the invention may include an abrasive-resistant overcoat as its outermost layer. This overcoat is desirably formed of an abrasive-resistant metal oxide, such as zinc oxide, applied at a thickness which does not significantly affect the optical properties of said coated substrate.
