The invention relates to a method for managing an anti-collision system for aircraft, said system comprising means of detecting collision with a threat and at least one head-up viewing device. The symbol system comprises two display modes dedicated to collision detection which are: on the one hand an 'action' mode: a potential collision is detected by the system, the symbol system comprises at least one symbol representative of the limits of the disengagement path of the aircraft to avoid the collision and enabling the pilot to engage his avoidance maneuver, and on the other hand a 'control' mode: this mode is displayed when the avoidance maneuver is engaged and the collision avoided, the symbol system comprises at least the symbol representative of the limits of the disengagement path of the aircraft and a plan view representing the air space around the aircraft and including at least one representation of the threat.

The field of the invention is that of graphical libraries providing graphical functions used for the drawing of symbologic images. One of the fields of favored application is the generation of symbologic images for the piloting of aircraft. The object of the invention is to propose a method of graphical generation of a colored vector surrounded by a dark contour (H) on a background likewise colored as a single drawing, making it possible to preserve the function of antialiasing. The field of the invention is that of methods of synthesizing cartographic images presented on display devices. This method is applied more specifically to visual flight on rotary-wing aircraft. The method according to the invention is used to present the useful aeronautical map information superimposed on a conventional altimetric presentation of the terrain being flown over, while retaining a legibility that is acceptable to the user. Flight safety is thus significantly reinforced. To obtain an enhanced legibility, the method displays only the aeronautical zones included in an altitude band corresponding to the flight phase of the aircraft and dependent on the geographic location and the vertical position of the aircraft. The method is used to display the cartographic representation either on a single window comprising a plan view of the terrain being flown over, or on two windows respectively representing a plan view and a cross-sectional view of the terrain being flown over.

Method of displaying cartographic information and aeronautical zones on an aircraft screen

A method for encoding of words of an image memory designed to be read periodically to refresh an image formed on the screen by set of pixels wherein the image includes surfaces having a uniform color and demarcated by a contour having a median line and the neighborhood of the median line including, on either side of this line, the pixels neighboring a pixel of the median line. The image further contains filar plotting features with one pixel of the screen being in a one to one correspondence with the memory cell containing a word and the reading of the current cell including at least a part of the information needed to write the corresponding pixel on the screen. The method involves recoding memory words in relation to the contours including not only the memory words related to the median lines of the contours but also the memory words related to the neighborhood of the contour. The code of each re-coded memory word includes two information bits concerning the circumstances of the writing of the recoded bits.
