A computer-implemented cognitive assessment tool is provided for assessing cognitive ability of an individual while multi-tasking. In one embodiment, a computer processing system on which the tool is implemented may receive form the individual first responses to a first task and second responses to a second task, where the first task and the second task are presented to the individual simultaneously. The system may determine that the first task and the second task are performed by the individual based on the first responses and the second responses, and compute a cognitive measure using one or both of the first responses and the second responses. Further, computing the cognitive measure may be based on performance measures of one or both of the first responses and the second responses. Based on the cognitive measure, the system may output a cognitive assessment to the individual.

As an example, a processor-implemented method is provided for enhancing cognitive abilities of a user by personalizing cognitive training regimens through difficulty progression. The method includes: performing a cognitive assessment of a user using a set of assessment tasks; estimating a maximal performance of the user related to the set of assessment tasks; determining a performance range based at least in part on the maximal performance of the user; dividing the performance range into a plurality of progress gates, the plurality of progress gates corresponding to a plurality of task difficulty levels; selecting a first progress gate within the performance range; generating a first set of training tasks associated with the first progress gate; and collecting the user's first training responses to the first set of training tasks.

Processor-implemented systems and methods for enhancing cognitive abilities by personalizing cognitive training regimens

Provided herein is a method of treating a central nervous system disorder in a patient in need thereof, wherein the central nervous system disorder is selected from schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Lewy Body dementia. The method comprises orally administering an initial dose of between 75 mg and 300 mg xanomeline and an initial dose of between 20 mg and 200 mg trospium chloride to the patient during a 24-hour period. Provided that the patient tolerates said administration, an increased dose of trospium chloride and an increased dose of xanomeline are orally administering to the patient, wherein the increased dose of trospium chloride is greater than the initial dose of the trospium chloride, and wherein the increased dose of xanomeline is greater than the initial dose of the xanomeline.

Anti-Galectin-9 antibodies and uses thereof

Methods of enabling or improving the ability of a hydrogel to swell in the stomach of an animal and/or increasing the amount of time said hydrogel remains swollen in the stomach are described herein. In one embodiment, a polymer is administered in combination with one or more pH modifying agents which raise and maintain the pH of the micro environment of the polymer and/or the stomach in order inducing swelling in the polymer. The polymer can be a homopolymer, a copolymer, or a polymer blend or composite. In one embodiment, the polymer is a superabsorbent polymer ('SAP'). The polymers can also be administered with one or more active agents, such as appetite suppressants. The pH modifying agent and/or the active agent can be administered simultaneously with the polymer in the same dosage form, simultaneously with the polymer in separate dosage forms, or sequentially. The compositions are formulated for oral administration. The formulation can include drugs for delivery to the stomach, such as antibiotics, or the hydrogel can be used as a filler, for example, for obesity control. The formulation an also be used to enhance gastric retention, for example, for controlled drug delivery. Methods of delivering a drug are also described herein, along with medicaments for carrying out the methods of the present invention.
