An improved liner for a container in which gases, liquids, or powders are stored. The liner is a multi-layer structure made in a roto molding machine. The liner includes a first outer layer made of metallocene polyethylene, an intermediate gas and liquid impermeable layer, and one or more inner layers made of thermoplastic material compatible with the material stored inside the container. During the molding process, the three layers are made sequentially with the second and third layers being bonded and fused to the adjacent layer to form a uniform composite layer. The outer layer is made of metallocene polyethylene with superior rigidity and relatively low coefficient of thermal expansion making the liner less susceptible to cracking and useful as a layup structure for molding a structure around it. The liner is then used as a layup structure for outer fibers and infused resin.

Liner and composite tank assembly method

A seat supporting assembly () for supporting a seat (), the assembly comprising a base () including a substantially elongated guiding rod (), a seat support (), a seat support-to-base linking member () pivotally coupled to the seat support () and sliding on the base guiding rod (), a substantially elongated tilting member () having a guiding groove () and being pivotally attached to the seat support () and to the base (). An actuating assembly () is coupled to the base () and includes a motion transmitting member () mounted within the guiding groove (). The force from the actuating assembly moves the tilting member () according to the geometry of the guiding groove (), which causes the seat supporting assembly () to move between tilted and upright configurations by pivoting the tilting member () relative to the seat support () and the base () and substantially simultaneously moving the seat support-to-base linking member () longitudinally relative to the guiding rod (). The assembly is designed to maintain the location of the center of gravity of a user as the seat tilts rearwardly by automatically moving the seat forwardly during tilting. The guiding groove () in the tilting member () may be curved such that the tilting motion occurs with a constant angular velocity The seat assembly is particularly useful for wheelchairs.

Seat supporting assembly and wheelchair including same

A wheelchair base including a base frame and a pair of pivot arm assemblies each including a first pivot arm and a second pivot arm, pivotally coupled to each other for pivotal movement about a transverse pivot axis. The pivot arms defining first and second auxiliary wheel attachments opposed to the transverse pivot axis for attaching first and second end auxiliary wheels. Each pivot arm assembly including a link pivotally coupled to the second pivot arm intermediate the transverse pivot axis and the second auxiliary wheel attachment for pivotal movement about a link axis substantially parallel to the transverse pivot axis forming a drive wheel attachment intermediate the auxiliary wheel attachments. The pivot arm assemblies are mounted to the base frame substantially laterally opposed to each other through the link and first pivot arm such that the pivot arm assemblies are independently pivotable relative to the base frame.
