An electrical protection device capable of operating without auxiliary electrical power supply includes a control module configured to detect an electrical fault and a switching module, a first circuit including at least two normally-on JFET transistors and a switching member including a first contact. The switching module is configured so that, upon a switchover of the first contact when the current circuits, an electric arc is formed and so that the appearance of the electric arc generates an electrical signal transmitted to at least one of the transistors, the electrical signal driving the switching of the transistor.

An electrical protection unit A including a main conductor and, for each main conductor, a current limiter device connected in series with the main conductor to limit the current when a current or temperature threshold is exceeded, the limiter device including an element made of a material having a positive temperature coefficient, called PTC, and being capable of controlling a device for tripping the mechanism M for opening the contacts of the protection unit D, to cause the opening of the contacts of the unit when the threshold is exceeded leading to a change of state of the element between a low resistance state and a high resistance state. The PTC element includes the trip device, in such a way that this element itself provides the functions of fault current limitation and of tripping the mechanism for opening the contacts.

The gas diffuser includes, superposed between them, a central layer and two outer layers arranged on either side of the central layer. The central layer is provided with first through holes. Each outer layer is provided with second through holes. A protection system configured to protect plural DC voltage sources configured to be connected in parallel between first and second input terminals of a voltage inverter. The voltage inverter can convert a DC input voltage into an AC output voltage. Each DC voltage source is connected by a first electrical conductor to the first input terminal and by a second electrical conductor to the second input terminal. The protection system includes: for each DC voltage source, a first cut-off member and first detector of a defect of isolation of the first conductor with respect to an electrical ground, the first detector and associated first cut-off member connected in series between the corresponding DC voltage source and the first input terminal of the inverter; and a mechanism triggering, in event of detection of the isolation defect, the associated first cut-off member to open the electrical link corresponding to the first conductor.
