A controlled release fertilizer has been prepared comprising a nutrient core coated with one or more moisture barrier coatings, at least one of said moisture barrier coatings comprising: at least one polyethylene wax; and a thermoset polyurethane from the reaction of a polyol and a polyisocyanate. The weight ratio of thermoset polyurethane to polyethylene wax is from about 50:50 to about 98:2. The polyethylene wax is heated above the melt point of the polyethylene wax and mixed and dispersed into the polyol component of the thermoset polyurethane in a ratio of 90-70% polyol to 10-30% polyethylene wax before the thermoset polyurethane-forming mixture is applied to the surface of the nutrient core and cured. A coating of a high temperature microcrystalline wax can be applied prior to final curing of the thermoset polyurethane to the coated nutrient core particles.

Electromagnetic spectral-based imaging devices and methods

This invention comprises the means for the capture of full spectrum images in an electronic camera without the use of color primary filters to limit the spectral color gamut of the captured image. The fundamental principle of the invention is that each pixel of the image sensor acts as an independent spectrophotometer and spectral separator. Individual line array elements which are activated determine the original radiance level of the light source containing that specific wavelength region. Sequencing frame yields a full-spectrum moving image.

An apparatus providing full spectrum electronic images includes a full-spectrum light source, a programmable diffraction grating to separate light from the source into its spectral components, a reflection system controllable on a pixel by pixel basis to modulate light output from the diffraction grating, and a scanning mirror to form an image from light modulated by the reflection system. A related method for displaying a full spectrum image includes providing full spectrum light, using a diffraction grating to separate the light into its spectral components, and for each pixel of the image, modulating the intensity of the spectral components to produce a light output characteristic of such pixel, and additionally using a scanning mirror arrangement to form the image.

A blind setting rivet slidingly joined to a rivet installation tool for rotation therewith for drilling the rivet through walls, panels or components of a member. The rivet includes a shank threadingly joined to a sleeve thereon, the shank having a drilling bit on a forward end thereof. The sleeve has an enlarged flange on a rear end thereof to prevent the sleeve from passing entirely out through the hole formed in the walls, panels or components, and also to prevent the sleeve from rotating upon engagement with the walls, panels or components when the shank is rotated by the tool, thus causing the drilling bit to deform the forward end of the sleeve to form an enlarged collar to capture the sleeve within the hole formed in the walls, panels or components by the drilling bit, where the sleeve joins the walls, panels or components together. The tool has a non-circular opening to receive a non-circular mandrel section of the shank so that the tool can rotate the shank. Preferably, the tool includes a magnet to releasably secure the mandrel section therein, and a spring to eject a broken-off rear shank portion format the tool once the sleeve is deformed. The tool is adapted to be received in a conventional electric drill for rotation thereof.

Blind setting rivet

A portable, self-contained, hand held fluorescent lamp and lamp holder testing device having a housing provided with a receptacle in one side thereof for receiving a pair of tube pins disposed at one end of a fluorescent lamp. A pair of prongs extend from an opposing side of the housing for insertion into a socket provided at one end of a lamp holder. Internally of the housing, there are provided a pair of spaced contact members for contacting the tube pins when inserted into the receptacle. A source of energy and an indicator member are serially connected to the contact members. The prongs are connected in series to the indicator member. Insertion of the tube pins completes the series circuit connection to provide an indication from the indicator member that one end of the fluorescent lamp is proper. The opposite end of the fluorescent lamp can similarly be tested. Likewise, the lamp holder is tested by insertion of the prongs into each socket, one socket at a time, to determine the operability of the lamp holder.
