A sensor housing assembly for mounting a tire pressure sensor module within the pressurized cavity of a wheel and tire assembly includes a central housing that includes a housing bottom and defines a cavity therein. A bobbin cover is coupled to the central housing. The bobbin cover and the central housing are mountable to a mounting surface on the wheel. The bobbin cover and the central housing bottom include curved mounting surfaces that are complementary to a curvature of the mounting surface on the wheel. At least one bobbin assembly is received in the bobbin cover. The bobbin assembly is substantially straight and coupled to the central housing at a downward angle toward the wheel.

A stacked jack modular jack assembly is comprised of a multi-port housing, and a plurality of modular jack subassemblies. The jack subassemblies include upper and lower jack housings sandwiching therebetween, a cross-talk shield. The terminal subassembly is substantially Z-shaped, which allows for increased space there below for signal conditioning components. The terminal module also includes a center shield and a lower shield, and an outer shield, all of which are commoned together and grounded. An outer shield substantially surrounds the entire assembly, and is commoned to the other shield members.

The assembly includes a front housing portion in the form of a modular jack, and a rear housing portion which forms a recessed area or &ldquo;well&rdquo; for receiving the components for signal conditioning. The components are mounted on a printed circuit board, and placed in the recessed area. The housings are aligned and locked together.

The upper port LEDs are mounted on LED modules, which are aligned with the housing. These modules also form the housing side walls for the receipt and alignment for jack subassemblies. The jack subassembly modules are pluggable into the multi-port housing to provide for the connector interface.
