A method for determining a screen break includes receiving a fluid stream from a screen system of a fluid system into a screen break detector, wherein the screen system comprises at least one screen, and the screen break detector comprises a sample screen. The method also includes monitoring a fluid pressure of the fluid stream flowing through the sample screen of the screen break detector and detecting a condition of the at least one screen of the screen system based on the fluid pressure and one or more pressure thresholds. The method also may include outputting a notification of the condition of the at least one screen of the screen system. A system includes a screen break detector. The screen break detector includes a sample screen configured to receive a fluid stream from a screen system of a fluid system, wherein the screen system includes at least one screen and a pressure detector configured to monitor a fluid pressure of the fluid stream flowing through the sample screen.

Screen break detector

A screen assembly includes a frame having an outer perimeter and at least one inner support member, and at least one smooth surface affixed to the frame, where the smooth surface(s) have perforations. The frame may include a plurality of contact points extending upward from a top surface, and at least one smooth perforated screening surface is affixed to the plurality of contact points on the frame. In some cases, the smooth surface comprises a perforated region and an erosion resistant region. Also, the perforations may have a shape that includes one or more corners. The smooth surface may be a perforated metal foil, sheet metal, and the like. Perforations may be apertures having one or more opening area sizes across the span of the screen assembly.

A method for determining a screen break may include obtaining a fluid stream after a screening system in a drilling process; placing the fluid stream into a screen break detector; obtaining a pressure within a well of the screen break detector when the screening system is in a first state; obtaining a pressure within the well of the screen break detector when the screening system is in a second state; determining a differential pressure within the well of the screen break detector obtained when the screening system is in the second state compared to the pressure when the screen break is in the first state; and transmitting a notification to an operator when the pressure within the screen break detector obtained when the screening system is in the second state is greater than the pressure within the screen break detector when the screening system is in the first state.

A screen assembly includes a frame having an outer perimeter and at least one inner support member, and at least one smooth surface affixed to the frame, where the smooth surface(s) have perforations. The frame may include a plurality of contact points extending upward from a top surface, and at least one smooth perforated screening surface is affixed to the plurality of contact points on the frame. The present disclosure is directed to a filtering assembly and a method of manufacturing a filtering assembly. The filtering assembly may increases an effective screening area. Specifically, embodiments disclosed herein include a screen housing having two sidewalls and two end walls, defining a perimeter with a length and a width. The screen housing also includes a top face and a bottom face. A plurality of screen segments may be positioned on the top face of the screen housing, such that the plurality of screen segments on the top face provide a screening surface area less than a total surface area of the top face.

The invention provides a system for creating a prescribed vibration profile on a mechanical device comprising a sensor for measuring an operating condition of the mechanical device, a circular force generator for creating a controllable rotating force vector comprising a controllable force magnitude, a controllable force phase and a controllable force frequency, a controller in electronic communication with said sensor and said circular force generator, the controller operably controlling the controllable rotating force vector, wherein the difference between the measured operating condition and a desired operating condition is minimized.

Mechanical devices and method of creating prescribed vibration

This disclosure is generally drawn to systems, devices, apparatuses, and/or methods, related to monitoring a shaker and monitoring a room in which shaker(s) operate. Specifically, the disclosed systems, devices, apparatuses, and/or methods relate to controlling an actuated arm to inspect, remove, replace, repair, clean the shaker and/or screen assemblies based on monitoring the shaker and its screen assemblies, and to adjust or maintain shaker(s) in a defined area such as the room in which shaker(s) operate. While the examples disclosed herein generally describe shakers for separating solids from fluids, the present disclosure contemplates that other separation equipment (e.g., machines for separating solids from other solids) may also be monitored and controlled by the systems and methods described herein.

Smart shaker room

A separator having a pressure differential generating system is disclosed. The pressure differential generating system generates a pressure differential with respect to a screen of the separator. Fluid is supplied to the pressure differential generating device to generate the pressure differential across a screen of the separator. The separator can be utilized to separate drill cuttings from drilling fluid to increase an amount of drilling fluid recovered as a result of the pressure differential.

A shaker separates components of a slurry. The shaker has a screen with a pressure differential applied to the screen to remove a portion of a slurry. The pressure differential across the screen can be toggled or pulsed. Generally, various types of separators are used to separate liquids and solids. For example, oil-field drilling operations use separators with screens to remove solids from a slurry. One type of apparatus used to remove solids from drilling mud is commonly referred to in the industry as a 'shale shaker.'

A scalping insert includes a scalping surface having a plurality of scalping slots therethrough, and a vertical base portion. A shaker screen assembly includes a screen frame having at least one slot. A scalping insert is positioned in the at least one slot of the screen frame. Processing fluid using a shaker screen assembly includes providing a flow of fluid to the shaker screen assembly and flowing the fluid through both a scalping surface and a screen surface of a single shaker screen deck.

A filtering assembly includes a screen housing having two sidewalls and two end walls, defining a perimeter with a length and a width. The screen housing also includes a top face and a bottom face. A plurality of screen segments are positioned on the top face of the screen housing, such that the plurality of screen segments on the top face provide a screening surface area less than a total surface area of the top face, and a plurality of screen segments are positioned on the bottom face of the screen housing, such that the plurality of screen segments on the bottom face provide a screening surface area less than a total surface area of the bottom face. A total screening surface area of the filtering assembly is greater than the total surface area of the top face.

A vibratory separator includes a screen frame having an upper screen surface and a plurality of openings and a first screen insert disposed in a first opening of the plurality of openings of the screen frame, the screen insert having a screen surface positioned at a first height above the supper screen surface. The vibratory separator also includes a second screen insert disposed in a second opening of the plurality of openings of the second screen frame, wherein a screen surface of the second screen insert is positioned at a second height. The second height may be different from the first height. A method of processing fluid includes providing a flow of fluid to a vibratory separator, and flowing the fluid over a screen having a first screen insert positioned at a first height.
