A drive coupling apparatus includes a carrier base defining a drive channel and comprising a first symmetry plane. A plurality of drive coupling members are located on the carrier base and adjacent the drive channel in a symmetrical orientation about the first symmetry plane. A plurality of chassis coupling members located on the carrier base in a symmetrical orientation about the first symmetry plane. The carrier base may be coupled to a drive in a plurality of different drive coupling orientations such that the carrier base may couple to an information handling system chassis and allow the drive to be coupled to an information handling system with the carrier base coupled to the drive in any of the drive coupling orientations.

Method and apparatus for coupling a drive to a chassis

An air shroud apparatus includes a base wall. A plurality of support walls extend from the base wall in a spaced apart orientation from each other. A component housing is defined between the support walls and the base wall. A reinforced section is located on the base wall and includes a reinforcing beam extending between the plurality of support walls and a plurality of reinforcing members extending between the base wall and the reinforcing beam and located in a spaced apart orientation between the plurality of support walls such that a plurality of air passageways are defined between the reinforcing beam and the reinforcing members. The air shroud may be coupled to an information handling system chassis in order to direct airflow from a fan in the chassis to components in the chassis.

A modular component coupling apparatus includes a chassis and a plurality of guide members mounted in the chassis which define a component channel, the plurality of guide members each including a first end and a second end, the second end including a component securing member adjacent the component channel. A modular component may be coupled to the chassis by engaging the component rear securing member such that vibrations in the modular component are reduced relative to a conventional coupling apparatus.

An adjustable heat sink shroud includes an insert that may be included within the interior of the heat sink shroud depending on the size of the heat sink enclosed within the shroud. The presence of the insert directs the flow of air through the heat sink.

A keyboard-display assembly is mounted includes a tray for holding a keyboard that is moveably mounted within a rack. The display assembly is mounted to the tray and includes a first display support arm and second display support arm that support a display. The display assembly is moveable between a storage position and a viewing position where, in the storage position, the display is in a generally horizontal position with the screen face of the display facing downward and positioned forward of the keyboard within the tray. In the viewing position, the display assembly rotated into a generally vertical position.

A vertically adjustable display assembly includes a display and support arms movable between a storage position and a viewing position. The display assembly also includes rotation support brackets slidably attached to slots formed in the support arms such that as the display assembly rotates from the viewing position to the storage position, the rotation support bracket will position the display with respect to the support arms to be properly position with respect to a keyboard to be placed in the storage position.

An active heat sink is disclosed that includes a fan elements between two sets of fins. When activated the fan forces air through the fins in a transverse direction across the length of the fins. Because the blades of the fan are bracketed on both sides by the fins of the heat sink, a fan guard is not necessary or installed over the blades of the fan.

A heat sink is mounted on a chassis and a fan support is mounted for movement adjacent the heat sink member. A fan is mounted in the fan support. A first connector is connected to the fan. A second connector is connected to the chassis for aligned mating connection with the first connector. When the fan support is moved toward the chassis, the fan and first connector are moved to connect with the second connector.
