A small form-factor gimbal system that provides for stabilization of payload assets in a manner that provides improved stabilization capability. Such a small form-factor gimbal system provides for precision payload asset steering functionality through integration of an inertially stabilized two-axis gimbal in combination with a beam stabilization mechanism (BSM). In a preferred embodiment, such a small form-factor gimbal system has a gimbal diameter of about 5&#x2033; or less and employs a laser assembly having a Coud&#xe9; path arrangement in which the laser beam passes from the azimuth subassembly to the elevation subassembly along the elevation subassembly rotational axis.

Gimbal systems providing high-precision imaging capabilities in a compact form-factor

A gunfire shock simulation apparatus that uses an actual firearm for generating and measuring shock response data without a pyrotechnic discharge. The apparatus exerts an impact on a discharge end of a barrel of the firearm for simulating the pyrotechnic discharge event of a round of ammunition discharged within the firearm. Following such impact, the apparatus cycles a bolt carrier group of the firearm for simulating movement of the bolt carrier group resulting from the pyrotechnic discharge event of a round of ammunition. A sensing device is used for gathering shock response data in three perpendicular reference axes. By adjusting the manner in which the impact is applied to the discharge end of the barrel and/or the manner in which the bolt carrier group is cycled, resulting shock response data can be tuned to closely approximate that generated by live fire of the firearm.

A drop emitting device including a first linear array of columnar arrays of first nozzle pairs and a second linear array of columnar arrays of second nozzle pairs, wherein the first linear array and the second linear array extend along an X-axis, and wherein the second linear array is adjacent the first linear array such that each first nozzle pair has an associated second nozzle pair displaced therefrom along a Y-axis that is orthogonal to the X-axis. A digital film processing system and film processing solution cartridge are disclosed. The cartridge comprises a housing and a chamber for storing a film processing fluid. The processing solution may be contained within a flexible bladder within the chamber. The cartridge may also include an integral applicator for coating the processing solution onto undeveloped film. The cartridge is generally removeably attached to the film processing system, but may also be refillable.

A drop emitting device including a linear array of first finger manifolds interleaved with a linear array of second finger manifolds to form a composite linear array of finger manifolds. An apparatus and method provide on-demand drop volume modulation by utilizing a single transducer driving waveform to drive an ink jet. The driving waveform includes at least a first portion and a second portion that each excites a different modal resonance of ink in an ink jet orifice to produce ink drops having different volumes. A control signal is applied to the driving waveform to actuate the selected portion of the waveform to eject the desired ink drop volume for a given pixel. The control signal also cancels the non-selected portion(s) of the waveform to avoid extraneous excitation of the transducer.

Apparatus and method for drop size modulated ink jet printing

An apparatus and related method for automatically aligning one or more print head modules in an ink jet printing system are provided. A mounting supports and aligns a print head module with respect to three axes of movement. The mounting includes rotatable cams that contact control surfaces connected to the print head module to move the print head module in a desired direction. The related method automatically positions multiple stationary print heads with respect to three axes of movement, including rotational adjustment about a Z-axis. The method also automatically adjusts the position of a single print head with respect to its angular rotation about the Z-axis.

Apparatus and method for automatically aligning print heads

An apparatus and related method for high speed offset ink jet printing are provided. Multiple print head modules form a full width ink image by ejecting ink drops onto an intermediate transfer surface on a rotating drum. One or more complete images are formed on the intermediate transfer surface in less than one revolution of the drum. The images are then transferred to a final receiving medium while additional images are simultaneously formed on the intermediate transfer surface as the drum continues to rotate. Two or more color component images may be overlayed to form a complete color image in less than one revolution of the drum. Additionally, the simultaneous imaging and image transfer allow the apparatus and method to print images having a length greater than the circumference of the drum.
