A method for processing requests sent by a user terminal, carried out by an interface device allowing the user terminal to access a communication network. The method includes: when a received request is detected as intended for being transmitted to a server not authorized by the interface device, receiving a second request intended for being sent to a resolution server associated with the interface device among resolution servers associated with the interface device, and transmitting, to the resolution server associated with the interface device, the second request received or a third request generated by the interface device from the second request received.

Method for processing domain name resolution requests

A method for wireless communication between a client object and a server object. The method includes the implementation by a proxy of steps of: detecting advertising packets broadcast by the server object; establishing a first connection between the proxy and the server object so as to block the broadcasting by the server object of advertising packets, and retrieving identification information from the server object; and establishing a second connection between the proxy and the client object, by using as proxy identification information the retrieved identification information of the server object, so as to simulate with the client object a connection with the server object.

A method of managing a local area communication network comprising at least one access equipment for accessing the network is disclosed. At least one communicating object is connected to the network. In one aspect, the method comprises upon detecting connection of a new communicating object to the network and/or upon detecting installation of new firmware on the at least one communicating object connected to the network, a learning phase involving observing interactions of the communicating object with at least one other equipment of the local area network and/or at least one equipment of a wide area communication network accessible via the access equipment. A method is provided for reserving a bandwidth in a local network for a service delivered by a services platform. The service is intended to be executed on a user terminal of the network. The method includes the following acts implemented by the services platform: receiving a first request for access to the service, originating from the user terminal via a network gateway, the request selecting a service offered by the services platform, after selection of the service, determining at least one parameter defining a bandwidth required for the execution of the selected service, generating and dispatching to the terminal, via the network gateway of a universal address of the service selected including a domain name, the domain name including in a first label at least the parameter defining the necessary bandwidth, and other labels forming a name of the services platform.

Method of reserving a bandwidth in a network for the execution of a service on a user terminal

A method is provided for managing in a local network the adaptive progressive downloading of digital contents by at least one terminal. The terminal is able to simultaneously receive several digital contents to be played back on a screen. The method includes: obtaining an instantaneous downloading bitrate for the at least one terminal; obtaining a priority for each content to be played back on the terminal as a function of a datum relating to the content on the terminal; and requesting downloading of each content according to its level of quality dependent on the priority obtained for the content.

Method of adaptive downloading of digital contents for several screens

A terminal receives a digital content which is transmitted in the form of a data stream in a network. This digital content is received by the terminal with a reception throughput, a nominal rendering time being associated with the digital content. Activation of a trick mode corresponding to a modification of the nominal rendering time according to a modification factor associated with the trick mode is detected on the terminal. Data to be requested are then determined according to the modification factor and according to a value representative of reception throughput. The data are then requested from the network and the requested data are received.
